LOBO Quick-Shift "7-Speed" Transmission

My thing is that they specifically said it's a quick shift 7 speed pulled from another vehicle, Edge ST. If it's just a retuned transmission and diff then for me there isn't much of an advantage over a XL AWD or XLT AWD. I would fine if that's what was told to us from the beginning. Guess we'll have to see until someone takes the time to looks at there's. Still waiting on mine to arrive.

no, they didn't. you should re-watch those marketing videos from the Lobo announcement last summer.

Ford did say it has the front brakes from a European focus st, and then they talked about the 7 speed quick shift transmission but they definitely do not ever say it's the transmission from the Edge ST (also in the Taurus SHO). many people, including me, speculated as to what it might be. one of those guesses was in fact it's just an 8F35 since it's almost impossible to engage 2nd gear in any Maverick; it's pretty much already a 7 speed.

So the LOBO is basically just a 2025 maverick tremor with different suspension, front brakes, wheels and a transmission tune. Got it..

Idk. Read a different article that it's the original 8 speed with 3rd gear skipped. But also read this as well:

"One of those components is the same seven-speed gearbox used in the now-discontinued Ford Edge ST as well, it seems. That interesting tidbit of information was confirmed to Ford Authority by Dawn McKenzie, manager of Ford’s truck communications."

Guess we'll find out soon enough. But I'm sure it's the same 8 speed as before.

Well if anyone else was wondering if the LOBO shift dial would work in the 22-24 Mavericks you'll be sorely disappointed like me. The 25+ Gear Shift Module (GSM) has a smaller, 22-pin connector compared to the 18-pin connector from the 22-24 Mavericks.

Bummer. Do you at least think it's possible to crack open those two shifters and swap the "L" button for an "M" button? If people eventually figure out how to program the button function to activate a manual mode, I'd still be a stickler for wanting the right letter on it.

Its not a DCT. Lobo uses a 8f57.

Does the 2025 LOBO have differences in the physical AWD system compared to the standard 2025 Maverick AWD? Several lines of coding have differences regarding the AWD system when comparing the as built data.
