LOBO Quick-Shift "7-Speed" Transmission

Always a chance we’re wrong but I feel strongly we are not. Only other option would be the DCT 7spd and I just can’t see it.

they had several traditional 7 speeds in the automatic Focus ST and the Edge ST before the Edge finally switched to the 8F57.

I think a 8F35 with revised TCM tune would deliver what Ford's looking to do with the Lobo.

is my knowledge correct that the 8 speed is like 250 ft lbs of torgue?

That also tells me Ford is going to pip Lobo owners for a Ford Performance tune but that is a-okay in my book.

Yes, surprised they used this transmission considering how much torque it can withstand and the lobo only having 277lbs of torque. Ford performance tune with 325tq would make sense now

it is absolutely coming and Ford likes to slow roll things so 2026 or 2027 will have an ST.

Excited for full on refresh in 2028 and what that will entail. At least 5k tow!!

not actually sure what that is a screenshot of, but considering only one of those transmissions has been used for the Maverick ecoboost I'm not completely sold on this.

quick google search shows the following. i had parts search on show me everything which is probably why it showed every transmission that has been in the maverick.

LOBO
HYDBRID
not sure which maverick.
FWD ECOBOOST

According to a Ford Maverick engineer in August, it just has a transmission tune.

"It’s the same eight-speed transmission we have today. There’s a couple of trans ratios that for drivability and fuel economy that make sense, but for pure performance, the ratios are too close so if you’re near redline you end up needing to do a double shift. We recalibrated that transmission so it’s only a seven speed."

only reason i think its the 57, it already exists as the 7 speed and the lobo is a huge parts bin truck, they havent modified anything to stick on it really
