The 2.5 itself is rated at 163 HP. The electric AWD is a different setup, perhaps making the big difference in total outout.

1) it's a plug-in Hybrid

2) it's $55,000 and up to $71,000 optioned out

3) only 33 MPG city/hwy combined

4) AWD with second motor on the rear axle. I think. Just says "two drive motors"

5) 14.4 kWh battery pack (with plug in)

gonna say the 266 HP only applies while you have juice in the battery

6) 4500 lbs curb weight

7) 2000 lbs tow rating

Seems to me mostly tuning, but that probably has a lot to do with the higher capacity battery on the Corsair and more power to feed the electric motors for longer. The Nautilus has even more power thanks to using the 2.0L Turbo (kind of a Ecoboost + Hybrid).

Wired magazine has the best technical details on what the HF55 offers and coming straight from my 2023 Maverick it seems to have more mid range EV power. There are some interesting trade-offs to make the 2025 Hybrid AWD as efficient as the 2022-24, despite the 2025 being heavier and having more mechanical drag. I am out of "free" articles for the month, but you can easily read it with a google search.

Supposedly the 2025 is quicker to 60 thanks to more power from the EV motors and it definitely seems to have more punch for passing.

The AWD suspension and drivetrain are considerably more refined than the 2023 Lariat I had, which is saying quite a bit because the 2023 truck was really good.

The difference is it's a 50 grand Lincoln. They can't let the 30 grand maverick have equal power.

I bought an Escape Plugin with the same Atkinson cycle 2.5 Liter engine over electric as my Mav. The exeption is it has a 14 KWHr battery. It sent me down a rabbit hole trying to figure out the differences. The same deal would apply to the Corsair.

From what I can tell there are not many differences. The electric motor is the same. I could not find anything on the cooling system. The gas tank is sealed in the PHEV because they had problems since folks often went 6 months between fillups. The Corsair has 2 electric motors and 4wd which give it the extra horsepower. And of course the computer programming is different in every model. All of the Toyota, Lexus, Ford, Lincoln vehicles we looked at had a variant of this drive train since Ford and Toyota share the patents.

It is a great technology.

Thanks for pointing me to the article in Wired with the details on the HF55. I actually started a thread with a link to the article in case it hadn't been posted previously. Also that's pretty cool that you can vouch for the 25 having more guts so to speak. The wife and I had ordered (2) Maverick's a few years back but unfortunately my wife's Maverick hybrid never got built and I ended up turning down the Maverick EB I had ordered. I did a complete 180 and ordered a Mustang GT (2024) which I've had for a year and change now. I'm now looking at the Maverick again (in hybrid form) if I end up getting rid of the Mustang without losing my butt. It's a great car and a blast to drive but really it's overkill where I live as all that power is pretty much wasted and it's expensive to insure and run.

Interesting. I though they used a sealed gas tank because manufacturers are required to build a certain number of partial zero emission vehicles each year to avoid emissions fines and that to qualify as a pzev, your hybrid has to have “zero evaporative emissions”, which necessitates a sealed gas tank.
