I have not received my hybrid Maverick, but intend to tow a small boat with it. At some boat launches you have to back your vehicle far into the water. Would this be dangerous in the hybrid?

Meaning you will get 3 different answers...none correct. If you Google, "launching boat with maverick hybrid", you'll find all kinds of conflicting answers. There are also several existing threads on this site about boat launching with a hybrid.
The best idea is probably to ask your dealership service advisor, who can in turn ask the regional service advisor, who can in turn ask the vehicle engineers at Ford (if needed).
Man, this is one you will learn the HARD WAY. Either it will work or it won't. A front-wheel drive vehicle is the LEAST EFFECTIVE tow vehicle for boat ramps. I shudder at the thought. When I retired and moved to Texas, I bought a Mazda Tribute, and insisted on AWD. The salesman was not happy with me, as he had to to to San Antonio, from Dallas, to get the Tribute I wanted. I explained to him that I had heard that there are some tough boat ramps in Texas. He was still pissed, but I didn't care. Sho nuff, the first boat ramp I used was .............. drum roll .......... COBBLESTONE!! Can you imagine a more slippery surface than wet cobblestone? Well, my 4-wheel drive worked fine, but had I had front- or rear-wheel drive only, it might have been a different matter. Good luck.I have not received my hybrid Maverick, but intend to tow a small boat with it. At some boat launches you have to back your vehicle far into the water. It's sad that dealers continue to put boats, especially smaller ones, on cheap-ass trailers that force the hull to be above the fenders. On low-slope ramps, every inch lower the hull is on the trailer starts making a real difference in how far you have to back in. Of course, there's always the option of a roller trailer,,,,,,,I launch mine at my local lake without a problem. It probably depends on how far you have to back into the water. With mine, half the rear tires are under water but our ramp is not steep. It helps that my trailer is low to the ground too.

Do you mean because of the water? Naw, it's designed to handle water like rain, snow... Connections are water tight. Well, they are supposed to be.I have not received my hybrid Maverick, but intend to tow a small boat with it. At some boat launches you have to back your vehicle far into the water.
