I have not received my hybrid Maverick, but intend to tow a small boat with it. At some boat launches you have to back your vehicle far into the water. Would this be dangerous in the hybrid?

It’s better than driving in forward. Much further that way. 🥸

If you Google, "launching boat with maverick hybrid", you'll find all kinds of conflicting answers. There are also several existing threads on this site about boat launching with a hybrid.

The best idea is probably to ask your dealership service advisor, who can in turn ask the regional service advisor, who can in turn ask the vehicle engineers at Ford (if needed).

Meaning you will get 3 different answers...none correct.

I launch mine at my local lake without a problem. It probably depends on how far you have to back into the water. With mine, half the rear tires are under water but our ramp is not steep. It helps that my trailer is low to the ground too.

It really comes down to how steep the launch ramp is, and your trailer. If you don't have to back too far in, you'll be fine. If you have to go to far, then it ain't gonna work :) This is assuming traction isn't any issue(I feel like this is probably the biggest determining factor honestly). If I had a boat, I wouldn't hesitate to try it at least once.

Man, this is one you will learn the HARD WAY. Either it will work or it won't. A front-wheel drive vehicle is the LEAST EFFECTIVE tow vehicle for boat ramps. I shudder at the thought. When I retired and moved to Texas, I bought a Mazda Tribute, and insisted on AWD. The salesman was not happy with me, as he had to to to San Antonio, from Dallas, to get the Tribute I wanted. I explained to him that I had heard that there are some tough boat ramps in Texas. He was still pissed, but I didn't care. Sho nuff, the first boat ramp I used was .............. drum roll .......... COBBLESTONE!! Can you imagine a more slippery surface than wet cobblestone? Well, my 4-wheel drive worked fine, but had I had front- or rear-wheel drive only, it might have been a different matter. Good luck.

It's sad that dealers continue to put boats, especially smaller ones, on cheap-ass trailers that force the hull to be above the fenders. On low-slope ramps, every inch lower the hull is on the trailer starts making a real difference in how far you have to back in. Of course, there's always the option of a roller trailer,,,,,,,

If You Tube is good for nothing else, it has provided me plenty of examples that my boat ramp fears are not unfounded. 😳

That, and pulling bumper pull campers in the wind and loading motorcycles into the back of a truck.

You'd think some boat ramps were built on 6" of butter and banana peels.

Do you mean because of the water? Naw, it's designed to handle water like rain, snow... Connections are water tight. Well, they are supposed to be.
Or because of traction? It all depends on the ramp then. I had no problem but the ramp is very rough concrete.

I have a 2018 Edge that is FWD. I have no problems at any boat ramp. I pull a 16' Tracker that is easy to launch! Still waiting on my AWD 2.0 Maverick that I ordered in September of 2022!

Not different than any other FWD vehicle.

And if you have only 2WD at least the front of the ramp will be more dry; less moss or slime or algae on the ramp. While AWD has obvious traction advantages, I think you will be fine in most, if not all cases.

But no, there is no more “danger” in using your hybrid vs any other truck. Try it. You ‘ll likely be very happy.
