Lariat or well spec'd XLT?

I'm getting closer to buying, and have a few questions remaining. Of course someone at a dealer could answer them, but I'm avoiding them until I have a clear idea of what I want.

I'm considering either a well kitted out XLT or a Lariat. The Lariat has a few things that I really am not inerested in (e.g. Copilot) but other than that is pretty appealing. But it's a two or three K more than an XLT with the features I want.

Finally, my questions. Are there differences in the suspension? With the 19" wheels the Lariat should ride and handle differently. Does it?

I understand the Lariat has a different widshield, which is quieter. Are there any other cabin differences?

Any other differences you'd care to mention? Thanks for any input you'd care to provide.

Had a '25 XLT Hybrid with most options. Traded it for a '25 Lariat Hybrid with all options. Love it. Seat is more comfortable for my old, titanium filled back. Better sound system. Very quiet cabin. Moon roof. Power sliding rear window (for the Fur Missile). 4K tow. Smooth ride. Onboard spare tire. Heated mirrors, heated steering wheel, heated front seats. Most of my driving consists of running around town and country, 5 to 10 miles per trip. Consistently get between 41 and 51mpg. When I do take long, highway trips, it's usually 33 to 38mpg. Works great for me. Glad I made the switch.

Lariat was what I went with. Mainly because I could get the adaptive cruise control. I also really disliked the bright blue accents in the xlt trim. The more subdued orange on the Lariat didn't make me feel like I was driving a kindergarten toy.

Also the 19's look fantastic and so far they ride pretty well. Have nearly 10k on my Maverick already.

Lariat all the way! The biggest thing I don't like in mine, it the piss poor color choices of the interior. Blue & Beige fake leather seats with any/all exterior color options? Really ??

By son's Lariat has the BAP option and gets the nicer interior seating color. All dash & door panels colors remain the same BUT at least his seats look sooooo much better being dark gray.

XLT with 3 packages gave me everything I wanted and nothing I didn't for a lower price:

1. XLT Luxry
2. FX4
3. 4k Tow

I drove both models on long weekend trips of over 1,000 miles. Being retired, most of my driving is weekend getaways, very little driving during the week. I chose the Lariat. I like the extra amenities on a trip. When I was working I always drove fairly basic trucks since most of my trips were short.

If you just need a commuter truck, get the XL or XLT. if you want to travel choose the Lariat.

My favorite thing is choosing a route that avoids Interstate highways. (I'm retired and have the time.) There is more to see and experience on the two lane roads. Mileage wise, the hybrid does much better on the back roads than it does flying down the boring Interstates.

I wanted the stuff the Lariat added on my 2025. Spray in bedliner, adjustable bed tie-down rails, better stereo, heated seats and wheel, AWD, fake leather upholstery, and anything that had the possibility of being quieter. I built a 2026 in blue with the options I wanted, and the exact truck was sitting on my dealer's lot as a 2025, with the only added option I didn't want being a first aid kit for $60.

I still wonder if I should have stepped up to the Lariat on my 2022 F150 over the high trim XLT, but the XLT's were a lot easier to get than a Lariat at that time.

Lariat hybrid all day long

Yep- Test drove all the models back when they first hit dealer lots - The lariat was like a totally differnet truck in the ride quality, quietness and everything else. My first ride in an XLT almost made us cancel our order- Maybe its differnt now ?

26 Lariat Hybrid, 4K Tow and Sliding Back glass. Pretty cool little truck. Came from 2015 F150 XLT 302A package. Wanted 3 major things - less cabin noise, better audio and assisted driving features - plus a little extra luxury with the Lariat package. Well didn't have 80K for new F150 so thought that I'm getting older, I would like but really don't need the big truck anymore so give the Maverick a spin. Hit on the big things - cabin is pretty quite, B&O sound system huge jump over my old F150XLT and I've fallen in love with adaptive cruise, lane centering and the 360 camera views. Not to mention for the first 1300 miles 35 mph. And the little guy is fun to drive, rides just fine and the Lariat package gives me just enough niceties that I do feel a little luxurious when I hop behind the wheel. So I don't regret paying a little more for the Lariat package and still half the cost of new F150.

I’ve had both. Lariat all day.

Agreed I also, had both, if you have the extra cash Lariat all the way, or even better if you want a street truck, my new Lobo makes me feel young again, I found the lariat hybrid a little boring to drive, but I don't care about MPG and like sporter vehicles, also retired only do grocery runs.
Consider the black package if you like that look, my black package Lariat looked HOT, my Lobo looks hotter.
As for ride quality my XLT was a FX4 so it did ride harder than my Lariat, even with the 19" wheels,
ride quality [ for me] is not a concern, I just like the look, size, price and options in the Maverick, I drove foreign imports for 30 years that cost 30/40k more they road hard and were fun to drive,
most people keep a vehicle 4 to 10 years some more, get want you want now and dont worry about a few thousand $.

Had a 2023 Lariat for almost 50k miles, was always happy with it. Now a 2025 XLT, also happy with it. No regrets with not going with a lariat again.

Leather seat hater here. That's the main reason I chose my XLT. I love the heated cloth seats and steering wheel with the LUX package. Like the CP360 package. Love having AWD on my steep driveway.

I have nothing against the Lariat except I hate leather seats. Just don't like the feel.

I went with the Lariat with black appearance package, no regrets for spending some more $$$$, would have been OK if it came with 17" wheels instead of 19" but it rides well enough.
