  1. Best drive mode for off-road?! (Non Fx4)

You are correct, I remember sand/mud modes would automatically turn off traction control. Yeah, slippery would surely be safest for on road travel. Slippery is known to cut engine power and limit wheel spin. Sometimes in off road situations you want that power and wheel spin.
  2. Best drive mode for off-road?! (Non Fx4)

Back when I had my 2023 Lariat Fx4 I used sand mode and mud ruts mode quite a bit when off road (mud or wet grass combined with a slope) or in deep snow. My 2025 XLT is not FX4 so I’m curious to know which drive modes you non FX4 owners have used off road. I’m wondering if sport mode provides...
  3. Mav at the Boat LaunchšŸš¤šŸ¤—

A Fx4 in sand mode should’ve resulted in a much better outcome. But we’ll never know for sure. Also, can’t help but wonder if the PTU went into limp mode to prevent itself from overheating.
  4. Random Maverick Photos of the Day Thread! šŸ“ø

    Hauling some firewood.
  5. Displaying tire pressure while driving

I can get it to show up by going into the menu and selecting it, and it will display while driving. However, the next time I start the vehicle it will not be in the "rotation" with Trip/MPG etc. I'd have to manually select it from the menu again.
  6. Lariat or well spec'd XLT?

Had a 2023 Lariat for almost 50k miles, was always happy with it. Now a 2025 XLT, also happy with it. No regrets with not going with a lariat again.
  7. Let's talk tint (%) for the front side windows

70% front windshield. 30% front sides. Factory rear. Overall, I’m happy with it. On a hot sunny day I’d prefer it to be darker but wouldn’t want to make nighttime driving suffer. (Plus already illegal as is, going darker could increase odds of a ticket).
  8. What’s this? 2025+ Air filter cover piece

I understand your position and I would also take that position on some things, but I currently have 0 concerns here. I’ll certainly update this thread if any negative effects occur.
  9. What’s this? 2025+ Air filter cover piece

Few weeks later, all is still well. I am not saying this mod resulted in better MPG. But since I did this, my average calculated went from 31.2 to 32.1. (I’ve never reset it)
  10. šŸ™‹‍ā™‚ļø What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

Hit 3k miles and a new average mpg high score, 32. (I’ve never reset it)
  11. Did you or will you add mudflaps?

I like when the vehicle in front of me has them. 😜 But on a serious note, been considering some especially cause I want to go with a slightly wider tire some day (235/55/19 instead of factory 225/55/19).
  12. Rust on roof bordering windshield

    Yikes. Year and mileage?
  13. What’s this? 2025+ Air filter cover piece

I just read that thread. I would’ve never thought that was a Helmholtz resonator on this engine. Other factory resonators I’ve seen before are very small in comparison. I would’ve just suspected it to be more of a ā€œfresh air tankā€. Fresh air tank sounds stupid but I don’t know how else to...
  14. What’s this? 2025+ Air filter cover piece

The way it was positioned in the 2.0 air box, I think it did hinder airflow. Granted, I do not think removing it will be any noticeable improvement to the driver but if I was able to test it scientifically, which I don’t, I bet airflow would be better without it.
  15. What’s this? 2025+ Air filter cover piece

At least! šŸ˜‚ Nah maybe .20?!šŸ˜Ž
  16. What’s this? 2025+ Air filter cover piece

Yes I would agree with that, based on shaking it. I may cut it open and if I do I will report back.
  17. What’s this? 2025+ Air filter cover piece

Well I removed it! Pretty straightforward, cut to remove it, clean up some of the rough edges, then clean it out good so no plastic goes into the engine. I haven’t had a chance to drive it much but so far all is well!
