Hello all. New to the forum, just wanted to get some thoughts. I’ve done a lot of research on the little Maverick and can say with certainty that I will be a fan. I ordered a CG Lariat, AWD, Lux, FX4 a few weeks ago. MSRP around 36k. Even at 36, I feel like, ESPECIALLY in today’s market, it’s a bargain. However, I am having second thoughts on the dropping that kinda cheddar on a vehicle with no real idea on resale value. I have roughly a 90 mile daily commute, 90% Hwy.

So..should I?..

1.) Stick with the current order and trade in my SUPER clean, well maintained, PAID for Lexus GX470?
2.) Change my order to front wheel Ecoboost, XLT Lux and keep my Landcruiser. And save about 8k.
My situation is very similar to yours. My commute is 50miles each way and hate to drive our 15mpg GX460 for a 1-person commute. I too like the extra power of the ecoboost and could not go for the 2.5l engine + CVT. (I learned it was eCTV after my order, but still).

When building my Maverick I did it based on this commute and daily comfort. I did want the no-key-out-of-pocket feature. And I also wanted all the nannies, safety features and driving aids to help on a long trip after work. So I went with Lariat LUX. Also, -just because-, I wanted AWD, FX4, 4K, etc etc. But seeing a $36k build out of a $20k truck, I could not allow myself that freedom and had to cut down what I really do not need. Here in southern Texas, snow is really unlikely, so AWD was off. Our GX460 can tow more than the 4K package and should be more capable off-road and in snow than the Maverick, if I ever need.

Sounds like our situations are very much similar! I’m still on the fence man. Damn options! I’m just excited to get my hands on one.

I'm 37 and I have a Catus Gray XLT Lux PKG w/moonroof on order for $27.3K, but I really like the interior on the Lariat with Lux and first edition package for $32.8k. I have never had a fully loaded vehicle, but it's nearly $6K more for basically pleather interior, slightly upgraded sound system, and a couple of other features. I'm learning towards leaving everything as is but a little Devil inside me is saying "YOLO!" 🤣🤣

That’s basically my first order. XLT Lux with sunroof and i was already at 31. I figured for 5k more I could get the pleather, copper accents which I really like, the fancy windshield, slightly upgraded stereo, power rear window, and most importantly…all the added lane centering and adaptive cruise control technology which will make my 90 mile commute much more pleasant and safe.

I have my Maverick for abt 2 weeks now and I can vouch for the Lariat with Lux package for a stress-free commute as this gives you ACC and LCA, both I use on my 60mile commute. The interior colors are refreshing; and heated seats and a heated wheel are great for when it's cold.

I have a Lariat AWD with Lux package, FX4 and 4k tow package. I think AWDs hold value better than FWD vehicles, I am no expert in appraising cars tho, lol.

Yeah, that's exactly how I'm leaning too.
For $2,345, the XLT Luxury Package has some pretty good options for the price:
• 8-Way Power Driver AND 6-Way Manual Passenger Seats
• 400W/110V Inverter (Cab Outlet with USB in Rear Console + Bed Outlet)
• Bed Tie Down Locking Rails with 2 Locking Brackets
• Bedliner – Spray-in
• Full-Size Spare Included with the Lux package on HYBRID (no charge)
• Heated Mirror with Body-color Skull Caps
• Heated Seats
• Key Fob with Remote Start
• Leather Wrapped Heated Steering Wheel
• LED Box Lighting
• Trailer Hitch with 4-Pin Connector
• Windshield Wiper De-Icer

That said, I won't be ready to buy for a few more months, and am hoping the 2023 model does Sync 4, as I like the bluetooth capability for Android Auto, even if it costs a bit more.
That heated steering wheel is legit- Never had one and its wow-

Lariat Lux gets you push button start- Intelligent access with 6.5 upgraded instrument cluster- Acoustic windshield is legit- Backseat Lariat is more comfortable- Electric sliding back window as opposed to add on manual- Yep $36k for a 22$ advertised truck :)

Yeah I suspect it’ll improve the quality of my commute immensely. I’ve been making the same commute for 15 years and the older I get, the more it wears on me. Only 10 more left and I can retire…so hopefully the Mav will take me through the end of this career into retirement.

Yeah I think I just need to get quit beating myself up over ordering a 36k truck advertised for 22k. Even loaded at 36k, it’s a deal. And it’s precisely what I want in a vehicle and has more safety and tech features than some vehicles that cost 60k.
