Seriously... What crap streak is this. Rear ended my 2022 in July. This today. The other driver jumped the yellow line. I don't have all my injuries sorted by the ER yet but, the part that hurts most is the bruise and chemical burn from the side air bag.

A similar trend will likely happen with cell phones. In a few years, it wouldn't be surprising if governments make cellular signal jammers mandatory in cars to prevent phone use while driving.

My wife and I were driving home yesterday with our dog from the lake. A guy pulls up next to me on the thruway and I see his head BobbiNguyen up and down obviously texting on his phone. I blasted my horn at him and he just ignored me. Fortunately our exit was 1/2 mile away. Hopefully he didn’t kill someone’s down the road.

I’d be all for technology to jam cell signals while cars are in motion. Pull over if it’s that important and save a life, maybe even yours.

..some idiot behind me the other day going down a secondary road - noticed she was weaving left and right ..this went on for about a mile, at a light I could tell she was on her phone and 'gesturing' in the air with her other hand, and she was always on my tail. Eventually I decided to get the heck away from her and got into the right turn lane and it was at that time that I noticed that the idiot was 'steering' with her knees. Moron.

I completely agree phones are a serious problem. Not sure why police aren't policing more. There was a time that they were cracking down on it now not so much. Should be treated like a DWI/DUI. Had a woman in and out of my lane yesterday, of course texting on the phone. Not sure what's so important that it's necessary while driving? And like someone else mentioned, why in this day and age don't people link up their bluetooth?? You can talk your whole damn drive with both hands on the wheel! I don't think blockers are the way tho. Why do we always let a couple bad apples ruin it for everyone? They need to be prosecuted, maybe they'll learn (probably not tho). I don't use my phone often in the vehicle but sometimes it's important and I use my bluetooth, not that difficult. I doubt any other vehicle would do a lot better when someone drives into you across the double yellow, so a different vehicle is unlikely to resolve the issue. The Mav seemed to do pretty well.

I cannot count the number of incredibly stupid things I've seen drivers do that required evasive action. Many years of driving motorcycles taught me some good defensive driving techniques.

I lived by assuming that I was invisible to everyone except the drivers that were trying to kill me.
That green light up ahead doesn't mean that a moron on a cell phone sees the red, so I don't assume that a T-Bone won't happen. That guy pulling over to the right up ahead just might be ready to do a U-Turn, so I'm ready to brake.

In your case, you likely had very little time to react. Hopefully the idiot had good insurance.

Anyway, any accident you can walk away from is a good thing.
Many people are not so lucky, like the 36,640 people who died in vehicle accident last year.
