Can't understand why these recalls don't specify vin number effected
Because Ford has no way to specify specific builds that may develop the issue.

It's worth noting that there have NOT been any significant fires in Maverick Hybrids as a result of this issue. If I'm wrong please point me to the forum discussions or news stories documenting where it has happened. Because if it has happened once twice or even 10 times it would be a whole forum section called "OMG Maverick Hybrids Are Burning" . But there isn't.

The bottom line is as if there were going to be engine failures of this small handful of engines that may have been inserted in some Mavericks, it would have happened by now. Machining issues tend to cause failures almost immediately - not 10 20 30 or 40,000 miles later.

Relax people.

I think it is fair for people to worry about engine failure when Ford sends out a recall notice worded the way that it is. I also think it is fair for the same people to wonder how a software patch is the fix for a manufacturing issue. Fire does not worry me at all, reliability does. Ford needs to do a better job of elaborating on the issue and potential remedy which would would go along way with addressing fears. Love your videos and appreciate the content. Your videos were very helpful when I made my choice to buy my Maverick

I had my Rear Lights Recall appointment today. When I got to the shop, I showed John the new Recall Paper. He got one too. He said not today. When he called 2 hrs later, he had done both recalls. 9:45 am Latrobe Ford.

I hope this is legit! Since the release of the recall, all I can find about Mavericks who have caught fire are mostly EcoBoost and nothing to do with a bad crankshaft so.. I'm not worried about my hybrid engine.

I was always hoping to have a free extended warranty on the engine... + the 10 year hybrid components. Yes, I'll be super happy I chose a hybrid over an EcoBoost for durability.
You might want to rethink your position: https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...and-maverick-2022-2023-engine-failure-recall/

Hard to imagine that we are now at a state of:

When the engine throws a rod due to a bad bearing and goes BANG, we have to have software added to tell the truck to shut down... instead of the driver figuring out on their own that it wasn't a normal noise and they should maybe turn it off and check things out before it catches fire.
If you saw Idiocracy movie, we are there..."Stupid is, as stupid does, sir.."

Fwiw, I have a 2022 built in Dec 2021 and drive 300 miles trips many times each year, with knowledge this MAY happen...

If my engine breaks down hundreds of miles away from home, I would pay the $500-1000 tow bill to get back to my dealer and force Ford's hand on the tow bill...but, that's me...

Took it in around 2 pm today, finished by 4pm, both bandiads applied.
As the inimitable Dangerfield would say, "I feel like a hundred bucks!"

NHTSA released this recall last year
Saw that then. What's new yesterday, is the software bandaid. Last year no type of remedy was offered at all.

Forrest Gump? Idiocracy is the one where plants crave salty water and the planet suffers famine, but in a funny comedic way. My favorite cult comedy may still be Office Space, iconic satire.

This won't surprise anyone, but when I stopped by my service department this morning to add on the recall for my appointment next week I had to explain it to the service writer. They said I wasn't eligible because when they opened up the tab for it it said parts not available. I had to have them scroll through the recall and read to them the section that said the maverick was software only and that's why it said there weren't parts available.
And then what happened??
