dropped 24hybrid fwd xlt at dealer wed nite for Thursday' "refresh" for camera. picked up thur nite after service dept closed. put key in and bam check engine light came on ; 10 sec later phone blows up saying 'safely pull to side of road &call your ford dealer' walked into showroom and ask if they had someone to run scan on it . NOPE. Gave them the keys with invoice still stapled to them and said I'll call tomorrow.Friday morning I call at 8:am and told its being looked at
tech says ford requires bat test before plugging charger in that must be on for 45:00min to 11/2hr while "refresh" is happening .Said thur afternoon my bat had383 cha; okay for test Fri morning on load test it failed so ford put new battery in it truck ran fine on way home. Battery they replaced was BXT99RT4-A same won put in new. what do you guys think

When it really dies, likes shorts perhaps - the system really wants you to stop.
The warning should really be - drive to where you want to be before turning off truck, it won't start again. Glad you were where you needed to be.

Betting they didn't have it on a maintainer while doing the update. Door open, lights on, ect, really draining the battery.
Count yourself thankful they didn't ruin the upgrade and kill the module by battery going too low during it, requiring a replacement module likely requiring special order.

Same battery part # - but what does the specs on it say?
You may have gotten an upgraded size!

Anyone who's seen Windows Update run is familiar with the "do not turn off your computer" message. Never try that on a laptop under battery power; same thing for the Maverick. I have always had a charger on it before & during software updates to make sure there are no hiccups during the process. Was this necessary? Almost surely not, but it surely didn't hurt.
