Is extended warranty warranted?

I have never purchased an extended warranty but I did with the Maverick since I was purchasing a new model and expect to use it.

As with others I went with @Granger Ford . It was a couple of emails and it appeared in my Ford app a day or two later.

Does it appear on the FordPass app? I don't see my extended warranty listed. I went with 8 year/48k, $50 deductible for $1150. I'm retired and only drive the Mav about 5k a year. Seemed worth it to me. Hope I never have to use it!

Not with the new version of the app, unfortunately. I should have been more clear in my statement. When @Ford Motor Company decided to revamp the app they removed several features. Your warranty information and real-time GPS location are two of the big ones.

When we asked them why they did it they replied with, "We don't have the ability to do it." Which is absolute garbage for the obvious reason of having previously done it.

Does the extended warranty cover the heating elements in the seats and steering wheel? Did not see that stated explicitly in the coverage.

Thanks for the info. My dealer already mentioned to me that they see the extended warranty on my account. I was asking about FordPass because I don't remember seeing it on the old version of the app. Oh well, Ford doing Ford stuff I guess, lol

It doesn't show on my receipts but once, I think I saw it stated on the work order when I signed it. Dealer knows and I think it's notice for tech to check for additional work??? In any case I am going to ask dealer to fix anything covered on 3/36 just before it expires. Who knows, I might even get a 12v battery or ???? I do have an 8/100 also on it so maybe he gets more on one or other, let him choose.

I went with 72 months 75000 miles zero deductible and included lighting. Cost me $737.00 out of pocket and $443 worth of FordPass points. 2023 Maverick Hybrid. I'm 100% comfortable with this expenditure even if I don't have to use it.
I just spent 1/2 day at Ford having recalls completed. Observing the bills customers were paying was eye opening. Expensive parts. Expensive hourly shop rates. And the costs are only going to go higher. Not my worry with my warranty paid for.
I've only ever purchased a vehicle warranty once before. In the 90's. It paid for a replacement engine. And it was a Ford!

Right before Granger's sale ended, I purchased a 100k warranty. It is somewhat similar to the 100k warranty for the Hybrid part of the vehicle that came with the truck purchase, but covers non-Hybrid issues.

Unbelievably cheaper than if purchased at my local stealerships.

I never buy extended warranties. I bought one for the Maverick.

• A few Ford techs recommended the premium care level and felt that was the only one worth it
• I viewed it as insurance for big items and as such looked at the $200 deductible option
• The 5/60 and 10/100 were the “best value” by $/mile coverage so I focused on those
• I ended up doing the 10/100 even though I won’t drive that much because of resale-ability (it’s transferable)
• I used my Ford points and it it came to $11/month over 10 years. I felt that was a very small price to pay to not have to worry about major repairs for the next decade and 100,000 miles

The price is not much when done thru Granger and the experience was painless.

I have a 2023 EB 16 months old with 6200 miles but sold another car we owned so plan to drive this about 10-12k per year going forward. I also have ford pass points expiring soon so thinking about putting the points towards extended warranty. Truck has beeen perfect so far.

Has anyone with a Ford been using the extended warranty? Is it worth it? On the flipside, did anyone buy it and regret it as they didn't get anything out of it.

The standard powertrain is 60K/5yrs so I was thinking about 8 yr and 75K basecare option but seems steep for the extra few years at about 1K with $50 deductible.

I am pretty competent working on cars and mainly have avoided warranties thus far in life. Maybe I just stop at the dealer and buy that expensive Morotcraft gear oil using my points since everyone says the gearbox is underfilled and some nice hats. Not really any accessories I would use but hate to let the points expire.

My wife is on her 2nd Ford Extended Warraty (Platinum Plus) amd maintenance coverage on her 2014 Explorer and it has covered a Sun roof motor and a Shorted wire harness in the roof that controlled the sun roof and other things. I have it on the Maverick too, I'm too old and to UN-TECH SAAVY to work on cars any more, have the maintenance plan too!!!

My brother is a service manager for a dealer, has been for 20+ years. He always buys the service contract and encourages me to do the same. (he works for a CDJ dealer). I oput an 8 year 60K contract on my 2017 Jeep Renegade. It expires next year and i only have 19K miles on the Jeep, but i have had over $3K in repairs needed (i paid $1400 for the warranty)so i am glad i have it. When i bought my 2024 Maverick, i put a 10 year 60K mile zero deductible warranty with first day rental and the light option. Got it from Granger and used my points and it was a little over $1000. Since i am retired and don't drive a lot of miles i plan on keeping the Maverick

You avoided the cost of an extended warranty by buying a vehicle with a high reputation for quality. Today, quality has greatly improved for nearly every make and model, but that doesn't protect you from inflation. Parts and labor prices have gone through the roof (far, FARRRR exceeding the rate of inflation), so I bought the PremiumCare on my Maverick because something will eventually break after the standard warranty expires. And I'm pretty confident that the cost of that ONE repair will exceed what I paid for the extended warranty. Again, it's a hedge against inflation.
