  1. RDU - service

Then Then you have the wrong information, Ford says never look at it unless you did something bad, but you do you!
  2. RDU - service

I have same age and milage as yours. I used Ford points to purchase the fluids from the dealer and changed the PTU at 8k based on lots of chatter here about underfilling by factory. Mine was full and fluid looked new so I didn't look at RDU. I plan to change it at my next oil change though...
  3. Ford 1.5T 3-cylinder driveline is horrible vs the hybrid 2.5 + eCVT

There was a bunchof GM cars using the Suzuki 3 cyl 1.0L engine back in the day, they were actually well thought out but unless it had the turbo option it needed to have 0-60 time measured in minutes... Only one I every messed with overheated on the interstate back when speed limits were 55...
  4. Help with Tire Decision!

I don't particularly think the OE tires are that great so most tires will likely be an upgrade. I have looked at the CC2 for my Honda pilot but a black Friday sale on Pirelli scorpion a/s plus 3 tires a few years ago peaked my interest, 70k treadlife and 200 cheaper for the set. They were...
  5. External Transmission Cooler installed on Non-4K Tow AWD Maverick

Just wondering if the install height of your cooler is higher than the transmission side level check, might explain why fluid came out. I would think ideally you would mount it lower than fluid level.
  6. AWD and tire replacement

There are good and bad in any profession. Yes, everything past the useful advice of measuring the depth was for my own amusement. Using real data and numbers is great advice though, best to make decisions, especially financially impactful ones with facts and data.
  7. AWD and tire replacement

Measure your tread depth, most tires wear about a 32nd for what you have on it, that is not enough to matter for the awd system. But pay for a new set, what do I know, I'm just an engineer. Tire diameter changes more when the sun hits your tire so just replace one side for half the cost, if...
  8. Need Advice After Ford Dealer did BAD WORK on my Maverick

I have learned similiar lessons. It is ashame this happens on a warranty repair. Similar thing happened to me with a new Honda for a 6 dollar door switch that popped out. They set a tool box on a shiny new black car and scratched it all up and then denied it. They tried to buff it out but...
  9. 2025 Maverick 2.0 is here -- my 4th in 4 years

So I will admit, read through the thread just to see the reveal of what was under the car cover. Enjoy the new truck!
  10. Is extended warranty warranted?

    Thats a good point, thanks.
  11. Is extended warranty warranted?

I like the simple way you pointed out the cost over life of the warranty, good way to look at it. We pay way more on fuel, insurance, plates, etc.
  12. Is extended warranty warranted?

I have a 2023 EB 16 months old with 6200 miles but sold another car we owned so plan to drive this about 10-12k per year going forward. I also have ford pass points expiring soon so thinking about putting the points towards extended warranty. Truck has beeen perfect so far. Has anyone with a...
  13. What went wrong with the 2025 Maverick Front!?

I agree, terrible, looks like the rear of the last gen honda pilot, has exact same problem with the tailights. I used to work in automotive, specifically making headlamps for a while, so quite sensitive to ugly, and don't understand why the the designers don't see it, but believe me the people...
  14. My 50k Review

If you changed tires at 30k that night be part of your mileage drop. Not all tires will give the same fuel economy.
  15. Menu projects oil change at 4,000 miles. Driven 2,010 mi. Why not 5,000 mi.

Wow, honest dealer or were they trying to avoid a free oil change you had coming. I always change myself, nobody trys to upsell me, I can pick the interval which is usually 40-50%, but truth be told I like to change all my vehicles Memorial weekend and Thanksgiving weekend as 6 months apart...
  16. The Anti-Car Wash people were right.

As an owner of black cars, never use the car wash unless you don't care about swirls. I have 4 black cars, wash at home, doesn't take any longer than going to car wash. As someone else said two bucket method is best practice, idea with that is removing dirt to prevent scratches, so you have a...
  17. Door Dings

Look into paintless dent repair. I dinged my VW by accident of course the week I bought it, my kid drove it to school and someone sat on the hood a few years later leaving too big dents. I took it in and they wanted 150-250 for the hood repair and agreed to do the ding for 25. Normally they...
  18. Anyone else have to buy new tires at 22k? My 22 maverick XLT Fx tires were at 3/32 unbelievable had to $1032 for new tires!

The picture indicates they are not worn out based on the tread wear indicator. Just saying.
  19. Minor accident - Looking for repair advice

That really sucks, but have had similar experiences in other vehicles, got lucky once that the bumper cover popped back into place for me. If you only had 1 or 2 broken clips that may have worked but sounds like you have more so nothing really to retain it. Other than getting the new parts...
