Granger Extended Warranty is up more than $400 over a couple months ago (on the plan I was looking at). Might be closer to $500 more, not sure but nearly 20-25% higher

:/
Granger posted here in August that the annual price increase would occur September 1st.

$.02 here, mostly peace of mind thing. Never purchased extended warranty before, did for my 2024 hybrid.

And while in Ca, managed to get through Granger so it was reasonably affordable.

Yeah. I missed that, unfortunately. And I must have priced it when there was a sale on, I guess. Just has kind of reached a tipping point there at thisnew, higher price.

I have gotten the extended warranties on the last five cars my wife and I have purchased this includes the Maverick. On one car we used it and the repairs were several hundred more than the warranty cost. That was a Honda. The others were Toyotas. Two we never needed the warranty fixes and the third Toyota we still have five years on the warranty. So good to July 2029. But so far nothing. The Maverick I have only had for a little over a month. I got the ten year 100k bumper to bumper no deductible plan. But my wife works for the corporate office of the dealerships so we get it cheaper than most. That's a big part of why I do it.

For me it's cheap insurance knowing I have ten years without having to worry about something failing. And since it's the comprehensive it covers everything except brakes, tire wear, the usual.
Yep I got the same..it's piece of mind

It's a Ford and a Maverick...two hits against good quality. If you plan on keeping it for 100K get a warranty. Every Ford I ever owned had a problem before hitting 100K,,,like tranny issue. idler issues, wheel bearings or driveaxle issues. There is a good chance you will have at least one issue before 100K as it ages unless you put 100K on it one year!
I do most of my own car work but I don't want a PTU or tranny failure bill because these are $$$ and a bear to replace. I just don't trust the Maverick to last past 10 years even after rusting proofing it all over. It's not a Toyota which would make it to 100K easily without a problem.

Can someone explain the process for pricing of the Granger purchased Ford extended warranty? I went through the process on the granger website and it looks like it wants you to pick a plan from the table then it eventually progresses to pay. I don’t know but I think that’s a standard Ford pricing table. Isn’t Granger supposed to be discounted? How or can I get pricing less than shown in the table?

I have a 2023 EB 16 months old with 6200 miles but sold another car we owned so plan to drive this about 10-12k per year going forward. I also have ford pass points expiring soon so thinking about putting the points towards extended warranty. Truck has beeen perfect so far.

Has anyone with a Ford been using the extended warranty? Is it worth it? On the flipside, did anyone buy it and regret it as they didn't get anything out of it.

The standard powertrain is 60K/5yrs so I was thinking about 8 yr and 75K basecare option but seems steep for the extra few years at about 1K with $50 deductible.

I am pretty competent working on cars and mainly have avoided warranties thus far in life. Maybe I just stop at the dealer and buy that expensive Morotcraft gear oil using my points since everyone says the gearbox is underfilled and some nice hats. Not really any accessories I would use but hate to let the points expire.
Wiper replacements are $40, I think.

I won't buy a new vehicle without one. But I wait until year 3 to finalize the decision. I don't mind paying a little extra to do so either.

That said, current factory warranties are a joke. 3 years is barely enough to beta test a vehicle and every. single. manufacturer. is having quality control issues now days. From one model to the next. Cars might last longer overall, but that doesn't mean they are built to do it. It's just pure coincidence due to modern engineering. These manufacturers are not planning on pushing our vehicles to 200k. They lose money that way.

Anyways... If you plan on keeping it, you will want the warranty. Every time this subject comes up I weigh in because I used to be vocal about NOT getting warranties and DIYing most the stuff. But you can't just drop the valve body from the tranny anymore... most are even closed systems entirely. They don't put grease zerks on parts either. Etc etc... They are not building these things to last they are building them to be cheap to dispose of and recycle on their end.
If they came with 5/75k standard, I would consider trading in when it was about to expire.

Yea, Ford increased the pricing of their warranty. Granger made a thread a little while back letting people know it was going to happen.

I agree, I have never bought a extended warranty, been driving over 50 years and get a new car every 3/4 years, I got one on my maverick for 4 main reasons its a new model, got it for 1500 online through Ford my dealer wanted over 3k, and they don't build them to last like they used to and lastly am retired now car prices have gone nuts I cant afford a new car every 3/4 years. If your going to keep your Maverick long term it would be foolish have a extended warranty.

Granger shows the price you'll pay. Go compare with getting a quote from the Ford Protect website where it's the full Suggested Retail Price of the plan and you'll find Granger's is nearly half the cost.

Edit: For instance I just compared using mine and Ford's full retail price for 8yr/100kmi $100 deductible comes to $3210 versus $1635 from Granger.

If I lived in the US I'd probably go with the Granger extended warranty, but I live in Canada, and so far I haven't come across anyone in Canada giving discounts on the extended warranties.
The warranty on my 2022 eco boost Maverick ends in November, so I recently visited my local Ford dealership to get a price on their extended warranty. I was quoted $2955 (Can) for the Premium Care 60,000km/3 years. The 80,000k/5 years was $1000 more.
Since I'm retired and only drive 5,000-6,000km (3,000-4,000miles) I'm leaning towards not going for the extended warranty.
I do worry about the axles, but that would be covered under the 5 year warranty

Right before Granger's sale ended, I purchased a 100k warranty. It is somewhat similar to the 100k warranty for the Hybrid part of the vehicle that came with the truck purchase, but covers non-Hybrid issues.

Unbelievably cheaper than if purchased at my local stealerships.

Also to all that are reading this message about extended warranties from Granger, if you have a Lariat, get the headlight coverage that cost $37. To replace a non working headlight is $1600! Not sure what the cost is for a XL, or XLT. You can add it to an exsisting policy.
