Oreilys sells the bxt battery bxt99rt4a and has good writeup on what it is. It is a "standard" type. Special made for high heat conditions. Read all the bullets on their site.

Not sure how that's possible unless it was replaced by the dealership but I checked a built 2023 Ecoboost's as built data last night and the BCM was specified for the same battery that 2022 Ecoboosts received from the factory, an enhanced flooded non AGM battery.
Seriously doubt it was replaced by the dealer, I just got the truck last week. Here is a pic of the battery, maybe its because I have AWD and 4K tow, dunno.
I have both and mine came with a flooded battery. Can you post a photo of your actual battery? Like I said, curious since as built data for the 2023 AWD I looked up would have indicated an AGM battery but it showed an enhanced flooded. If you did get an AGM and the BCM thinks it has a flooded battery then you're not really benefiting from having an AGMSeriously doubt it was replaced by the dealer, I just got the truck last week. Thanks and good for Ford for making the upgrade. While in there I'd definitely make sure the BCM is set for an AGM. The as built data for the in transit 2023 FX4 I looked up last night was set for an enhanced flooded battery so if it does have an AGM the BMS isn't taking advantage of the superior charging characteristics of the AGM and charging it like an enhanced flooded battery.Havent starting messing with forscan yet but will check when I put my cruise control switches in.
Thanks for the tip, I may go ahead and check today in forscan, think there are a few settings I can play with...havent used it since I got my super duty a couple years ago so prob need to get the license upgraded. Is anyone keeping a spreadsheet of all the forscan changes you can make, I know there was one for my other truck out there...

Possible, yes.
I can't tell you what you have in your vehicle, you may have an AGM, but various members have shown photos of their "BXT-99RT4-A" battery in their hybrids. This is not an AGM battery.

Nowhere do the manuals show an AGM for the HEV.
Are they shipping with AGM's???
At this point the best way to know what you have is to lift the seat or raise the hood.
The AGM' are clearly marked.

AGM is an optional / alternative battery for the EB.
Maybe it was stock on higher trims.
Or MAYBE the regular flooded battery was a constrained item and they ran out and went to AGM to keep the assembly line going.
What this thread proves is: just because you see something on YOURS it does not mean it applies globally.

1) It doesn't have a conventional starter that runs off 12V; that's handled by the eCVT, supplied by the HVB. No need for high cold cranking amps as a result - cost savings.
2) It doesn't need to keep the 12V system up and running when auto start/stop is active; the HVB charges the 12V battery the entire time the vehicle is on
3) Essentially, it's used more as a float and to power the electronics when the vehicle is off.
AGM would generally be more of a benefit for the EcoBoost with auto start/stop features.
That's all over the place then because my AWD 4K tow ecoboost did not have an AGM from the factory, it had an enhanced flooded battery.

I stand corrected. Thanks. When I took delivery in May '22, I did like alot of owners do. I familiarized myself where things were under the hood, location of spare tire, where to find the 12v battery under the seat, etcetera. But wether or not it was an AGM was not even on my radar.
For some reason I thought it was an AGM, probably from (mis)info here at MTC. I just came back from checking and it is indeed not an AGM. It is vented to underneath the vehicle. Ultimately I guess it's not a big deal. Fortunately mine has not suffered from any low voltage condition in well over 15,000 miles.

I’ve not seen a single instance of actual proof that hybrid Mavericks ship with an AGM battery despite what some people (above) claim. Mine certainly is a flooded battery
