Installing Auto start / stop elimination harness

So i went out and popped off the side panel. My 2025 XLT looked exactly like that video. I easily placed a 7 mm socket on the screw and started to remove it. (Didn't take it off all the way since I don't have the part.) I see no issues installing the stop/ start in my truck.

Does anyone know what that rubber band does?

Ford hangs that there so you can wrap it around your finger to remind you to reinstall the shield and bolt . Or as an emergency bottle cap gripping device for opening a bottle of water, actually works great on lids and caps.

This is the one I ordered. I said "about to install" but that was a bit of an exaggeration. It should get here next week. The videos I watched look pretty simple.

Is there another connector much closer to the buttons that has a different shape that matches?

Yep, mine looks exactly like the video. The one I received is the same as in the ebay photo. Definitely wrong.

Sounds like the fiasco I first had getting rubber mats from an ebay seller that listed all the truck models together, EB & Hybrid, in a nice chart saying mats compatible with all of them.

I didn't think that was possible after a little forum reading - but had already ordered them.

Nope - hump too high - trash can couldn't fit in slot.

Complained to them - they corrected their description - to ALL hybrid compatible, took the EB's out.
Goof balls.
Asked me to take credits that never equaled the purchase price, then asked me to sell them to make up the difference - not many of them around area back then for a sale. Listed for a week.

Went to Ebay who finally stepped in and got money back.
Description at that point was still incorrect - I guess ebay didn't care about wasting their time again.

Most all of these eliminators on eBay are made in China and the prices are all over the place. Some as low as $16. Is anyone out there a little concerned like me about plugging a cheap Chinese product into an OEM harness and system?

It seems like there are two different styles out there, the cheaper one that connects to the switch itself, and the more expensive one that connects to the module.

I'm sure it came with instructions.

You are absolutely correct. After looking at 15 videos, I found that there are two different parts that connect at two different areas of the truck. Almost all videos show an installation point through that side panel. The one I got came with absolutely no instructions so I assumed there was only one place for it to be installed. I already started a return on this one and ordered the more expensive one for the side area. An instruction sheet or a link to a video they recommended would have been great.
