Is there a good video or set of instructions on the installation of an auto-dim mirror that does NOT involve running wires along the pillar and through the firewall? The videos I have found are for 22 b0r 23 Mavericks

I grabbed an OBD port to USBx2 dongle with a power timer for my dashcam. If there is an auto-dimming mirror than runs off of or can be converted to USB power it would also work for that with the second port.

So you want to tap the dome light or camera?
There is no change to the dome light for the 2025 facelift.

Here's a video:

If you don't like T-taps, this harness is a decent solution. It uses solder-seal splices, so you'll need wire strippers and a heat gun (or lighter😬) if you source your own mirror.

Harness only: https://www.ebay.com/itm/126939646204
With Mirror, no splicing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/126968047760

There are also battery-powered options, but they're more expensive and will die in like 10 years.

I just installed mine on my ‘25 last weekend.

On my ‘22 I had made a harness for the camera connection, because it has switched power. That area totally changed on the ‘25. Here are details on when I did this for my ‘22: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...ge-opener-and-ford-auto-dimming-mirror.32299/
(I did switch the button cover to black)

So, as posted above, you could use the overhead console dome light connector. That connector is unchanged for ‘25. The downside in my opinion is that the 12v there is “always On”. It gets power as soon as you open your door, and stays On for at least an hour after you turn off the truck.
I don’t like that because I don’t want the opener to work unless the truck is On, but that is just personal preference.
The thing to think about is that while the opener part of a mirror will only draw power while pressing the button, the dimming part will always draw power. I did measure the one I used and it was a max of 0.4 amps, which is not a ton, but why have something ’draining’ the battery unnecessarily? There is enough of that going around.
I tested the power at the humidity/temp sensor that is up there, and it always gets power.

So I had to break down and run power all the way down the A-pillar 🙁
For ground, I just screwed it into the roof. There is a nice curved support piece that runs through there, with plenty of space for a screw. When running it down the A-pillar, I followed the wires already in there, and zipped tied and cloth taped it at the same mounting points. I wanted confidence that I wasn’t interfering with the airbag.

Thanks to all of you. I think I'll just bite the bullet and run it down A-Pillar. My job for today.

While you have to wait for the eBay harness to arrive it is by far the cleanest option. I don’t believe that the power stays on anywhere near an hour, but I’ve never been concerned about it.
The idea of pulling everything apart to run the wire down the A pillar just strikes me as a waste of time.
If you haven’t started I say order the eBay harness, the whole installation takes 20 minutes. You will be happy you did.

I haven’t checked, but it seems the power drops when you lock the doors

What fuses did you end up tapping in to? I’m looking into adding both an auto dimming mirror AND a dash cam. So trying to see what others have successfully done.

The harness that I used from eBay (listed above) is available with multiple power outputs.

I used #3. The best choices are 3 or 6, but the common fuse taps only fit in 3.
Here are details from when I added the fuse tap in my ‘22:
https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...uto-start-stop-default-to-a-drive-mode.31556/
I did the same on my ‘25.
The last page of the PDF in the first thread has a pic of it installed.

Is the mounting bracket on the windshield a universal WEDGE mount?

I don’t know. But it does look very much like the one on my 2004 Sprinter Van. And the KIA mirror fits the Maverick perfectly.

It is a wedge, but not sure about being “universal”. Before getting my ‘22 I had bought an auto dimming mirror from a ‘17 Fusion; it is Ford branded but made by Gentex. That mount did not fit.
I did look at the current style Escapes and Bronco Sports, those mounts are the same as the Maverick. And of course these Kia mirrors as well.
