I just installed the Husky Liners Smoke Hood Shield

My AVS deflector has been installed since Dec 2024. No problems except for the bumpers all came off. They were mounted on the deflector , probably not a surprise due to the sun here in AZ. The thing I didn’t like was that the new push pins don’t attach to the hood gasket like the original ones.

Just so I'm clear . . .
What happened to the bumpers? Did they deteriorate? Didn't fit anymore?
The push pins were Husky made that replaced the OEM fasteners?
My main concern is protecting the front of the hood from dings. Not so much deflecting bugs. I like the Husky because one can reach under it to keep the hood clean and dry if need be. Also, the price is reasonable as I've seen some for over $100.

I just installed the Husky hood shield, it wasn't difficult except for removing the OEM fasteners that attach the rubber hood gasket under the hood. Easier to pull out with needle nose pliers and then they have an oblong shape you can't see inside the gasket, and you need to "finesse them".
The fasteners that come with the hood guard do not go into the same holes that the OEM gasket fasteners went into, as the guard sits tight up to the hood. A couple of dabs of rubber adhesive might make you feel better, but it actually doesn't look like the truck misses them.
For some reason the new fasteners were just slightly too short to attach the center two attachment spots, despite repeated attempts, so I used a couple of my just slightly longer ones and that did the trick. The part itself fits well, looks good.
The "bumpers" noted above are just small plastic stick on tabs that you typically see on cupboard doors for stops.
They don't look like they would do much except perhaps to possibly protect the hood if a large object whacked the hood guard. I wouldn't count on them doing much to prevent damage.
I put them on the hood shield itself like the OP did, and I cleaned the attach points with alcohol first.
I like the look and it should help keep the hood edge spot from its previous job of bug collection.

I just installed mine a couple of days ago and the holes lined up perfectly and the fasteners fit and worked as well.
I have a 2025 XLT hybrid. Maybe you received an older production version or a defective run.

I have a big selection of pins, and the slightly longer ones worked fine.

I just removed my Maxzina hood protector and replaced it with the Ford one. I used plastic razor blades (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091GWC5C3) and a decal remover (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B42DWGJM).
Installing the Ford protector: I added some thin weatherstrip along the top edge and ends between the breaks in the double-sided adhesive to keep the water from flowing under the Ford protector. I left the breaks along the bottom edge in case water does get in there so it can easily flow out. I didn't have an issue with water flowing under the Maxzina protector, just the discoloration issue.
