My dealership was like a typical dealership experience. They tried to sell me on extended warranty and services. My sales rep was pleasant. At times he dodged questions throughout my 16 month wait. Had to try and pry answers out from him only to get boiler responses.

I think the most frustrating part for me was sitting there watching the dealer get either regular stock allocation or cancelled order units on their lot and selling them with huge markups.

I get it, dealerships can do whatever they want with their inventory, but 16 months and watching this going on was infuriating. Especially since I asked if I could buy one of these units at MSRP and they could have my unit when it arrived. No....

Maybe if my wait was less than a year I wouldn't have been so bitter with them, but 16 months! Was told I was their 2nd longest wait. Yay me.

I really wanted to leave a negative review towards this dealership about how they really don't care about the customer. They gave me the same response, if I complete the ford survey, it's a reflection of my sales guy, not the dealership. And that sucks. I really don't want to screw my sales guy over.

The thing I really wish this dealership would understand is that their games has basically turned me off from ever going back to them. Not only will I never buy a car from this dealership, but I won't be going to them for service either. So I hope it was worth it for them. They made what, a couple hundred bucks off me from my custom order and that's it. They could have sold me a stock / cancelled order at MSRP and had not only my future business but service as well.

Also, had they really gone above for me and sold me one of their stock units at MSRP, I would absolutely have purchased either an extended warranty or service plan from them. I would have been ecstatic. But since I was so bitter, I wanted nothing other than my car.

I don't kow about Ford but I do know Subaru salesmen lose big if they get anything but a 10. 1-10scale. In 2018 my husband gave a 9. We got about 5 phone calls and emails asking what they did wrong. My husband said "nothing. 10 says outstanding. You were very good but in my mind it takes a lot to be outstanding". It was confirmed to us that the salesman lost bonuses due to getting a 9. At least with Subaru those go directly to the salesman. I would guess it is similar with Ford. Call your saleman and ask who the review effects.

Maybe not responding (to the Ford survey) is a better choice? My dealer also sent me links to both Yelp and DealerRater, which allow more of a personalized response.

I have used a 3rd party company to purchase my vehicles since 2001. They are connected to my Credit Union. Vehicle is driven off the dealer lot straight to the Credit Union. No sale rep. No dealer. Good loan rate and fair 3rd party fee. Paying someone to find my vehicles and deliver it is worth it for me. Understand if its not for others, but I try to avoid dealerships whenever possible.

That is exactly what happened with me. I waited 16 months for my truck. The games these dealers play really antagonizes the customers. The salesperson will NOT bring out the final price less the pvt offer for 2 hours. He will just come up with one offer after another. I am also not going back to the dealer, In fact, I fix all my cars. Other than hybrid part, I am not going to any dealer for any repairs.

I see nothing wrong with complimenting the sales rep and dinging the dealer for the finance office.

It took me about 13 months to get my truck after placing the order.
Not including test drive, I was in & out of the dealership in about 30 minutes. Over 1K off original MSRP and $129 doc fee, which was mentioned up front when ordering. They went over the extended warranty options but prefaced it by stating I was under no obligation to buy one.

I have given them good reviews, but they never even asked me to do so.

You don't owe any place a review, whether good, bad or neutral. If you don't want to leave one, ignore the dealer's insistence that you do leave one.

Heres my Bad experience picking up 24 XLT Hybrid. I had told them with emails how I wanted it titled and no to all the extras. When I got there truck was still snow covered. They washed it offf but Business mgr had not even started on paperwork. i was paying with a check. I waited 1 1/2 hrs for him to get done . One saleperson at least showed us how to get Ford Pass on phone but that was extent of showing anything on the truck. After Ieft , I got about 10 minutes from dealership and they called and said they forgot to put Temporary tag on it so I had to go back and get it. I did not fill out the Ford review but yesterday files a complaint against dealer for not using my private offer as I had originally ordered a 2022., and was told when they switched to 23 I would get $2750, They told me there was no private offer for wiating on 24 model. I even emailed them the codes & a copy of the lettr from Ford to get it so we will be fighting about that as they have never answered my email. I hope it doesnt come to filing small claims suit against them

I would be honest with my review, If the question is salesman related and he did good then mark accordingly. If the question is dealer related mark accordingly.

Whether or not the salesman gets dinged for a bad review is between him and the dealership. Maybe if good salesman get dinged because of the dealer they will figure out that they need to work somewhere else.

I haven't got my truck yet, but I went a little different way with the dealer. I ordered mine from Northside Ford in Portland. They specialize in fleets and commercial sales and for many years offered only heavy trucks. They now welcome individual sales but don't advertise for them. I talked to them and got some idea of when the ordering window would open. Called the salesman a couple of weeks before he expected the window to open and he said it had opened the day before and we went through the order on the spot. He recommended options as we went through and gave his opinion as to which was a good idea and which wasn't really worth the money. I picked the XLT Hybrid with the Lux package so I can have my heated seats, and 360 copilot for safety. He advised me as to what options they install so I can pick them out later if I want. I haven't heard back but I haven't got a build date, either. I do get the Ford emails regularly so there isn't much to say. The salesmen at the dealer in town are mysoginistic gits so radio silence works for me for now. I'm happy so far with the attitude of the dealer and the way he worked this old dinosaur through the order process. We shall see when my pretty red truck gets here!

My experience with Smith Auto Family in Levelland Texas was phenomenal. They sold me the truck at exactly what we agreed on when ordered and only thing they added was an extended warranty at my request and threw in spray in bed liner at no cost.

I paid $699 for the document fees. That was what I was told when I placed the order and is about what I am usually charged.

I have developed friendly relationships with a couple of Ford dealers over the past few decades. I use their very competent service departments to keep my Fords running for over twenty years - my oldest pickups are now 2001 and 2003 models. The service writer at one dealer has worked there for 18 years, and the techs for even longer than that.

If you ding your salesman, I wonder if it will take a lot longer to get a service appointment for the inevitable recall service?

Lakeland Ford in Florida… salesman tried to secretly add a $5000 market adjustment right at the end. Nowhere was this brought up beforehand, even when comparing the Maverick to a Bronco. Window sticker that had the MA was off the window and rolled up behind one of the seats. Do NOT go there!!!

It has been 3 weeks and some 200 miles on my Hybrid XL. The salesperson has reminded me twice to leave a positive feedback to Ford and also do a google review.
My salesperson was nice and did what the dealer wanted him to do. He kept in touch with me all the time till the delivery of the truck.
But, my experience at the dealership was not so great. I got tired of the "nagging" upsell like some luxury silicone / ceramic pkg for $1500.
I said no and then there was $500 discount. Thereafter, powertrain extended warranty. I told him when I want it, I will get it thru fordpass.
I declined it all. But, finally could not get away from $799 doc, title, plate etc. fees. I think it was too much.
I went there with BOA approved loan offer. I let the dealer run a credit check hoping he might have a better APR.
It was too bad and then I gave him my loan offer letter. He came back with the same offer from the same bank.
Later, I realized there was another credit pull.
Also declined the trade in offer for my Elantra Gt 2014 for 5K. I fix my car myself and it has factory warranty till 150,000 miles or 15 years.

So, I am dwelling on how I should review the dealer. I like the salesman but not the dealer.
What do you think of my dealer experience?!
I didn’t have many issues with the sales department only the maintenance department and I knew about all the fees and worked it out it depends on how hard your dealership wants to make a sale when they do the upselling
