At least once a year I stop by my local auto glass shop and have inside glass super duper cleaned better than I would/could ever do. If they find a repairable chip (covered without deductable by insurance) no charge for cleaning.
The issue I see is that the camera housing has to be opened up and the glass in there and the cameras themselves may need cleaning. Maybe a local glass shop will be able to do that. I know right now with Tesla you have to take it to a service center to have this done and cameras recalibrated.

My 2025 manual specifies that the HVAC will enable A/C when it detects excessive humidity to prevent fogging of the interior.
In pre-'25 models, if the main HVAC control is OFF - the system is OFF and computer cannot turn on the compressor when it thinks it should be on.

OFF is the big fn physical Temp control Knob you can hit without even looking for it. N/A on newer models.

Don't necessarily agree.... I do have "auto" on and in both my prior Escape and my Mav Air often comes on, even in the winter when the temp outside is teens (garage temp probably in the 30's). Pain in the ass. Seen other quotes on this website where they are saying it could come on if it detects that the humidity is high as well.
Yep..the assumption the the car is hotter is not thought out.

I find it annoying having the compressor start up at every start too..

I avoid using Auto as a result.
But, your Temp setting will also have an effect.

I typically manually turn it off, most the time. (turn down fan speed until its OFF).

Would prefer to just have simple 'fan on/speed' control without a constant need to try to match a temp as well.

I just want some air movement (fan low) w/o specifically heating/cooling. - Simple.

It'd be more efficient to not have the compressor running all the time..automatically..

Make sure you have the temp setting set warm enough to not trigger A/C.
And make sure you have the dehumidifier (defrost) turned off.

Relative humidity is a funny thing. A vehicle acts a lot like a greenhouse and is warmer on the inside than it is outside. Warm air holds more moisture than cooler air, so as the air outside cools down, relative humidity inside the vehicle goes up and you can get condensation on the windows, which will be the coolest part of the vehicle. This happens even in "dry" climates.

I know what you're talking about. Here in the Mojave Desert, we have Virga, rain that falls but evaporates before it hits the ground.

Even in new Mexico if the air temp is below the dewpoint (the temp at which the RELATIVE DEW POINT IS 100%) condensation will form. So the truck will have to turn on the AC to remove some of the moisture until the truck is warm enough to raise the cabin temp above the dew point.

If you basically want outside air.

AC off.
Recirc off. (could have On, but likely have AC in background more often)
Vents to whatever.
Fan whatever.
Temp to LOW.

Except for the behind the scenes auto-AC for high humidity - this mimics just outside air.

Doesn't "LOW" turn fan to max and AC TO MAX COOL without ever getting to any specific temperature?

I haven't had time to mess with it, but we actually had a freeze here and I did not enjoy driving with ice cold air blowing on me. I have another question. My Red Rover looked a little dusty so I hosed it off. Then it had tiny white spots all over it, windows, mirrors, and my new bed cover. I tried hosing it off the next day and now it's worse. Looks like tiny white paint splatter. Any idea why? Maybe it doesn't like hard water? What to clean it with?

No.

I didn't say to turn Auto mode on.
Turn Auto mode on and what I said goes out the window. Which will end up being the best way to get outside air then!

But we do sometimes get enough fog to notice.

A couple of weeks ago, I looked out my back window and my mountain was missing!

I think it's a quarter or half mile past my back fence. (view is panoramic).

Here's more normal, but still with some fog:

Oh, and on the ground, we don't normally get even close to 100% humidity when it's raining!

while I'm at it, there are some compressor designs (or is it all?) that can have something dry out if they don't start often enough, leading to designs that automatically turn them on, at least briefly, when the engine starts.

On January 2nd I was up in the mountains 8000 ft. and above
If you want to call that ground level fog. Then I guess I was in fog.
