Does anyone know if the B&O speaker package includes HD radio. It does in the Escape, which uses the same platform as the Maverick, but not one word about HD radio the the Maverick specs or order guides.
Yes, HD radio is included in the B&O Maverick system

I can't find a 2021 B&O system to listen to but I'm sure it won't be good enough for my ears. Factory stereos never are.

I'm going with the standard stereo and will upgrade factory speakers and add a subwoofer. I've yet to hear a factory system that didn't need help.
I just picked up my Lariat Lux Hybrid on Fri and it has B&O system. I wasn't impressed with it. I had to put all EQ to full. Sub doesn't bump like my last unit. I play bass so I gotta have more bottom. Also it def needs tweeters. I want to hear crisp cymbals crip

I replaced the door and c-pillar speakers with Rockford Fosgate components. I put a 10" Rockford Fosgate sub under the rear seat and a Rockford Fosgate amp behind the seat. (I like RF stuff but I'm not a fanboy. Each of the pieces just met my specific needs perfectly.)

I didn't amplify the door and c-pillar speakers. They're running off of the BCM and honestly it sounds EXCELLENT.

With the custom box the whole thing was around $1000. I do need to run a cap though, the sub kind of runs out of power when running it hard.

Here is a picture of the non-B&O speakers vs an aftermarket brand. You can see the Ford logo on the white sticker and the rating of just 25 watts. More importantly how much smaller the magnet is which has a lot to do with sound quality. The wholesale cost of a 100 watt speaker and a bigger magnet would probably have just been a few dollars. It's not that you need to crank them up to 100 watts. With a better speaker, the sound quality is better at low volume, especially the bass.

Definitely needs a sub to have any thump. The stock 6x9 is outperformed by decent door speakers. I'm using Focal rse-165.

A lot of folks are using the Kicker HS10 which is a pretty good powered sub that fits behind the seat back. IMHO definitely do not try replacing the B&O 6x9, it just won't perform in an infinite baffle. (The back of the enclosure vents to the air under the truck. Yes, really.)

I built a box that fits under the rear bench with an Alpine R2 8" with dual 2 ohm coils and it's seeing 500wrms from a Kicker Key 500.1. It's really impressive for an 8 in less than .4 cuft enclosure.

Has anyone tested how "clean" (as in, not a flat output) the signal output is from the B&O amp? I am adding an after market amp and planning on inputting line level source to my 5 channel amp from the B&O system output. I plan on running Morel 2 ways in the front and 4" coax Morels in the rear. I am on the fence if a signal processor will make a big difference. Any thoughts?

I won't be spending money to upgrade the Maverick's stock system. A car's interior is the worst environment ever to integrate a sound system. The only benefit for an upgrade would be that it would make me appreciate my home system even more.

If forced to I'd probably go with Fostex FE 126EN full range drivers ( 93dbs ) Powered by a TPA class D amp. Mainstream car audio speakers don't compare with the better home audio speakers. The best car speakers I had back in the day were a pair of Altec's mounted in the doors.

The B&O isn't bad sounding, once you tweak the settings to your liking. Truthfully it's on par with the Bose, HK, and Infinity upgrades found in most brands.

I'd be impressed if measured it actually came out to whatever FORD lists it as.

It sounds really clear and clean to me BO version. I’m big on HD radio and have had several. I chose it for Sirius option and am satisfied with it. Not quite as nice as my wife’s Sony in her fusion, but plenty nice for a truck. As far as 660 watts, maybe peak... more like 50 watts rms which is still a lot. I remember back in the day a clarion deck with a 30 watt eq and 4 Craig 9427’s that would make your ears bleed! Probably why I have selective hearing now.

I don't worry about that much anymore.

I was a Live Reinforcement sound man for 14 years. Started hearing a ringing sound and could never get the mixer to find that damn flute. It went to hell from there.

First it was 11 years working on an Air Force flight line, never needed any stinkin' hearing protection. Then I learned the only way to set up a main stage speaker cluster was to stick your head in the throats and see if it was working. Now it's 24/7/365 ringing, 80% loss in left ear, 40% loss in right ear. It doesn't matter anymore how good the sound system is, the hearing aids don't capture 95% of it and are all a POS.

So if it turns on and I can get the volume to cover the road noise, I'm good.
Yeah, that Tinnitus is no joke. I've had it for many years. I still enjoy a good sound system though.
