I think part of the valve spring failure (carbon build up) is due to the nursing of that throttle that we all Hybrid owners like to do. Full open throttle will help with this build up. Until Ford puts stronger valve springs and or create a setting to burn off this build up.

But ya 45 is my average MPG 9 miles each way 18 miles total a day all street no highway.
valve spring sizing is based on RPM limit of the motor . If springs are failing is because they are not being built to spec. Not that the spec is wrong.

I hear if you get them hot enough the magnets šŸ§² in the eCVT will LOSE magnetism (!) What if you are needing to evacuate your family from a VOLCANO! šŸŒ‹ and surrounded by HOT LAVA! Hybrid will leave you stranded. šŸ˜±

Technically it is true, but if the internal transmission is reaching the Curie Point you've probably got bigger problems.
I think that long before the magnets lose their magnetism the battery underneath the floor will get over the temperature (174Ā°F?) that the lithium electrolyte crystals start to breakup (melt) and battery will begin to rapidly decompose (aka "explode").

See the attachedā€¦ā€¦

The load is placed on the ice by increased electric demand placed upon the generator by the electric HVAC condenser. If it helps visualize the magnetic field surrounding the armature as "the belt"!

I donā€™t think the AC brings the mileage down as thereā€™s no fan belt to put drag on the engine
Literally everything reduces mileage. Even charging your phone reduces it by a negligible amount. The energy has to come from somewhere - the gas you put in the tank. Thus everything, including climate, has an impact on mileage.

I have been kicking the crap out of the Ford MPG numbers of 33 and 42 for 37 avg. I am averaging 42+ MPG over my last 10k miles. That is approximately 40 percent hwy and 60 city. In the city, I am consistently 50-70 MPG...I'm talking a small city, 30k people, so traffic and lights accordingly. Crazy numbers and very happy to have the hybrid

I'm averaging 43.7 mpg for 3,000 miles. Mostly rural roads (55 mph) and some interstate (70 mph). On secondary roads (45 mph) I sometimes get 52 mpg. Loving it so far!!

Finding the same. When we drive from the suburbs into our small town and around, we are always over 50 mpg. When we mix in highway miles (70 mph speed limit) to the next city 30 miles away, we will be in the higher 40s. Very pleasantly surprised so far after about 3K miles. BTW, I have checked both the onboard computer and manually, and I find the onboard computer to be surprisingly accurate for a change.

I'm averaging between 43 and 44 on two lane highway and between 45 and 50 in town. I averaged 38 mpg at 80 mph on Oklahoma turnpike. Love my hybrid maverick!

I've been 43 to 33 MPG for combined with my 2.0 AWD w/ 4K. I know you asked about hybrid but just wanted to show it's not just hybrid doing well.
