The last recall, airbag, was a freaking nightmare. Had to bring it back a few times for electrical glitches. Lost 3 days.

It's a programming change to one of the body control modules. Should be very fast. But queue time is what always screws that up. An "appointment" at a car dealer service department is never an actual "appointment"!
I wonder why this can't be self-updated over the internet/cloud/wi-fi or some other damn thing?

Dealer did the upgrade while I was having an oil change.
Time it takes MAY OR MAY NOT depend if remote tech is doing mine in my driveway. Downside of remote tech is his arrival window causing consumption of your own coffee and cookies!

20 minutes. My dealer sent a mobile tech to my work and did the update.

I called the dealership about it and they sent a mobile Ford Mechanic van to my house. The reflash of the computer took maybe 15 minutes. They also had to go around the vehicle and reset the TPMS sensors. Done gone and saved me a 70 round trip and a half day of time!

i went to the dealer yeasterday. 35 minutes IN to OUT. We should get some Ford Pass Points for the aggravation/effort/travel.
I think I was at the dealer about an hour. Gave me a chance to answer e-mails, have a coke and chips, say hello to the staff and then afterward I remembered I had a tailgate lock, so they installed that too. Just a software update, nothing physical.
