Just wondering if anyone with a Hybrid can tell when they had their brake pads replaced. I have a 2024 Hybrid with 29K miles and my pad still look like new. Would like to know how they’ll last.

You only use friction brakes when under 4mph or when braking hard. The brake pads wear will consequently be very highly dependent upon how you drive. If you hyperbole you could probably expect to get 200k out of them, and if you drive like an ass then you'll only maybe get 30k.Just wondering if anyone with a Hybrid can tell when they had their brake pads replaced. 200,000 miles on my last Ford Hybrid.Just wondering if anyone with a Hybrid can tell when they had their brake pads replaced. I have a 2024 Hybrid with 29K miles and my pad still look like new. Would like to know how they’ll last.

I ran into this exact problem with my Prius v. When I first owned it, I worked to minimize brake use and maximize fuel economy. However, my rotors rotted out in 2 or 3 years (I forget which), and I failed inspection. When I replaced the brakes, the rotors looked bad, especially the rears. After that, I made sure to periodically brake hard, particularly in winter since we encounter a lot of road salt, and I never had this problem again. Apparently, road salt eats cast iron pretty fast oddly enough lol.How long until the rotors get too rust pitted from hardly using the pads might be a better question![]()
I had to replace the rear pads and rotors around the 55,000 kms mark I think. Work done by Speedy Auto. Front brakes were ok. Checked later by my Ford dealer as being ok.Just wondering if anyone with a Hybrid can tell when they had their brake pads replaced. Basically forever if you don't live in the rust belt. I regularly serviced Toyota hybrids that had 200K+ on the original brake pads and rotors.Just wondering if anyone with a Hybrid can tell when they had their brake pads replaced. I get a lot of rust on the inside of my 4500-mile 10 months old 25 Lariat hybrid black wheels, the wheels are not steel must be coming off the rotors, don't drive much the last 9 years am retired never seen this before on other models I've owned, my last maverick 22 fx4 I had for 15k never noticed it, find it odd. Few people commented my wheels are rusting on your new truck.I ran into this exact problem with my Prius v. When I first owned it, I worked to minimize brake use and maximize fuel economy.
