The email with the VIN is for a FWD. Digit W8E is FWD, W8F is AWD.
We originally ordered a FWD Mav with the tow package on 6/23/2021. Dude do you even read posts or do just scroll through them and decide to make a comment......

Now the question is do I text my salesman asking him to confirm that the Mav we ordered in June is truly "In Production" with a May 2 build estimate.
Sometimes it's more fun to act like you're not aware of any problem... particularly when the other person absolutely knows that there is one.

Maybe send them something like this and then sit back and watch what happens.

Hi [salesperson],

Great news! I got an email from Ford on Friday saying that the truck I ordered on 6/23/21 (VIN xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) is scheduled to be built on May 2.

I know it's hard to predict, but can you give me any kind of estimate of when it will be delivered to the dealership?

Sorry, after reading over this post I realize I didn't type my entire response. My 4 year old grandson didn't want to wait for me to type everything earlier.

The first vin with "3FTTW8E" is FWD so they probably kept that order and when you went in to make the change to AWD probably made a new order with the same order number. If you want to know for sure, did you get the $2220 rebate on your delivered order? Since your original order was FWD with the 4k Tow Package, if they updated your order by changing to AWD, you would have received the $2220 rebate. If they put in a new order, you wouldn't have received the offer and if they took off the 4k Tow from the first and added a hitch, then that order wouldn't receive it either.

You ask people to draw conclusions about information spread across multiple messages, then turn into an a$$ when they don't piece together your information in the exact way you intended. @fordvideoguy spends a lot of time contributing to this forum, but not enough for you, I guess.

2 vehicles were ordered under your email. Assume this is a mistake on the dealership's part by not properly changing your order, or assume the dealership is doing something shifty to get an extra stock order.

Then, decide whether you want to try to claim the second Maverick, let the dealer and/or Ford know of the mistake, or let them be confused when the extra one arrives.

What else do you need here?

So you obviously did NOT get the $2220 because you didn't fully do your homework... no reason to take out your frustration on Tim.

Orders are actually 12 digits. 5 for the dealer code, 3 for the body code, and 4 for the order number.
W8E 1111 is a different vehicle than W8F 1111.

A similar thing happened to me last week. I checked on the status of my August Maverick order (Ecoboost, XLT LUX, FX4, 4K) with Ford. Using my order code, they gave me a VIN and said that I had been scheduled. I checked the VIN on Ford's order tracker and it was a totally different Maverick (Lariat hybrid) ordered several weeks after mine from my dealership.

I talked to Ford about it and they said that my dealership applied the same order code to both Mavericks. They said it is normal for dealers to apply the same order code to multiple vehicles, though they don't usually apply the same order code to vehicles of the same model so the orders can remain easily distinguishable. Ford said that this shouldn't impact my order, but waiting 9 months for an Ecoboost Maverick does make one wonder... 🤔

If you don't like Tim's answer, get off your butt, go to your dealership, and ask your sales person what's going on. There was absolutely no excuse for your snarky, low rent attitude towards Tim.

Order numbers are given by the dealer therefore there could be duplicates pretty easily. We use a 4 digit code with the 1st and last digits being the initials of the sales person, the numbers in the middle being in sequence of what orders they have. Sometimes we lose track and do the same number twice.
