I've always wondered does it save that much gas in regular driving conditions like just normal stop light in a smaller town? I'm sure it helps in heavy city traffic obviously. I also wonder if all the constant restarting bad for the battery, starter, spark plugs etc? I feel like when I get my truck I'll probably turn it off most days. Do you guys use the auto start stop or do you turn yours off?
It's seamless in the hybrid, you literally can't tell aside from the noise. Can't really speak on the Ecoboost. The maverick hybrid doesn't have a starter to wear out, but on cars that do, auto start stop has been around for a very long time, and I don't believe we've really seen that many issues pertaining to it.

My other vehicle is a '21 Subaru Forester, and I absolutely hate the auto stop-start on it. It usually stops the engine just as the light is turning green, so it's off for only a second or two. Then it takes a bit to get going again, and by that time I'm already hitting the accelerator since I'm quick from the brake to the gas, and there's a noticeable delay to me between when I hit the gas and when the car actually starts moving.
yep - not good when you look in the rear view mirror and see someone barreling towards you and you have to make a quick escape - I'd consider that a safety hazard...

I haven't driven the mav ecoboost but I have noticed on other ICE vehicles this feature can be annoying when you take off.
Very annoying in the ICE vehicles I've ridden in that have it, especially when the whole vehicle shakes when the engine re-starts.

Lack of that "feature" is another reason I love Hybrid vehicles.

My thing is when the engine turns off the "cold" a/c cuts off. Also, I wonder how much life am I loosing on the starter?

Hate it. Created by the starter manufacturer lobby. Turn it off every time I start my Mav. I didn’t know you could turn it off in Forscan. You couldn’t in my Ranger.

I like it doesn't bother me a bit, have it in the F150 too.

I was skeptical at first ( I'm okd school)but now I do like it. I believe it does save some fuel, but winter time it rarely works due to temperature.

I hate it. Was the first thing I turned off. I live in a city of 230,000 with lots of stop lights, stop signs and this was not saving me any gas. Was a pain to keep starting vehicle. Might work well in other places but not in the midwest.

I'd like it a lot better if it defaulted to "disabled" when I started the car. Which was the case with my F-150 when I had it tuned.

Always brings back memories of a couple of the old beater cars I had when I was young that a propensity to stall when idling (eventually, I learned to fix such problems, but alas, those days of fully mechanical distributors and carburetors are long gone).

i don't like it and i also do rural/small town driving. i feel like an airplane pilot starting my truck then pushing stop autostart, release parking brake, then pushing the OK button 4 times. it gives my engine that few moments to get the oil circulating and slightly warm.

Hate it. I always use the button to turn it off, and I’m grossed out when I forget and hear my engine restart on me.

Find the Start/Stop a nuisance. I disable it everytime. Looking into permanent disabling in Forscan. Can’t really believe it saves that much more gas probably puts more stress on starter and battery than anything else even though they are supposed to be beefed up.
