I know there are various modes that are supposed to help with mpg , power, towing, etc. How do you change them? I have never had a truck or car with these. When you start out, is it in normal or is it in the last type you used. I never go over 65, but would like to get as high mpg as possible. Is there much of a difference between eco and normal? Thanks for any info.

It does not have any "memory" of your last used setting, and defaults to Eco every time you start the truck. Many, many people wish this was not the case and wish there was a way to indicate your preferred mode. As for how to change modes, there is a button in the center console area below the dial shifter that lets you cycle thru the modes. You can do it while driving. No need to be parked or at a stop.

Edit: @NJ Pinelands, you really asking this? Am I being trolled? You aint new around here. Haha.

Can you go 65 easily in Eco mode ? If so, I will always leave it in that one.

Sorry, still COVID brain fog over here. I thought it was Eco since people complain so much and Eco would be the mode I assumed would have the most complainers. Haha.

Yes, you can easily go 65 in Eco. It defaults to normal every time you start it (as others have already said here), so no, you cannot leave it in any mode.

What kind of Mileage boost can I expect if I take the trouble to change to ECO after starting my truck. I drive a 50/50 mix of highway/city.

It's not really much trouble. I switch to Eco most of the time. I haven't bothered comparing.... but I do recall others on here saying about 2mpg better on Eco compared to normal.

@NJ Pinelands has to be pulling our legs with this question. Apparently he finally got his truck! Congratulations NJ you will love the mileage. It will exceed the 65 mph pretty easily too.

Eco just dulls the throttle response. If you have a light foot you can achieve the same results but it takes the thought out of conscience economy driving. Cruising at 65mph is the same in normal/eco, you'll just accelerate softer when needing to pass.

I like to drive in two modes.

The first mode is the screen lock mode. In this mode I like to look at the red exclamation marks, it's so beautiful.

The second mode is passenger simulation mode, when I am lonely I turn on virtual passenger mode and the ford simulates my friends in the back seat.

I think these are the two best modes on this car.

There is no NORMAL driving anymore. Just a bunch of crazies out on the road these days. There should be a Laid Back driving mode or maybe one that says CHILL. When I started driving, the rule was one car length separation for every 10 mph. That must be old school because no one adhere' to that. Now it's whenever there is a gap, it's an invitation to move in. And don't get me started on tailgating. That seems to be the norm now too. My 2023 MAV has a 4/5 star Government Safety Rating. I believe that's a good thing or at least hope it is.
