Mike, thanks for the info. I just made and dropped a new video using a different phone. Post #13 deleted.
In this one I'm in the driver seat. Because I have a keyed ignition I cannot test the push to start.
With mine the key must be in the ignition for the horn to alert.
If the pushbutton start fob is correctly seen in the cabin - they'd get the same result. So valid test.

And - so much for seat sensors for driver and passenger.
Seems that bit of info could be shared with other systems for some improved logic.
I guess.

If I'm driver and running in park, and passenger double pulls handle to get out on their own, what do I care if they hit the lock all button for their door.
Sure, I guess after I get moving again the auto-lock all is going to happen at 5 mph anyway.
But maybe I'm sitting at gas station and they get out, and I'm so immersed in my phone since I wasn't distracted while driving, they think a good idea to lock their door for safety and don't know the infamous lever lock.
Do I need a double-honk and unlock all to disturb my focus?
Now I have to hit the lock-all again?
Oh the inhumanity of it all!

ETA:
I'll mention just finished trip where my son in passenger seat was going to stay, after I got out for restroom after fillup. Truck running since cold. (sssshhhhh - don't tell Glenn running at pump also)
He locked all button on his side - no double-honk unlock all.
He did unlock all after I came back - he was so immersed in phone I had to knock!

ETAA:
I guess we shouldn't have tested at 11:30 pm when we pulled in.
Ignition On - all doors locked.
He get's out, hits lock all button - double-honk and unlock all happened.

He thinks it's better safeguard that way - in case you got out with key in ignition, put something on driver seat so it thought someone was there, then went around to passenger door for whatever, and hit lock all.

Well - at least it's consistent with driver door.
Get out with truck On or running, fob in cabin or key in ignition, and attempt lock-all button - informed it's a bad idea with double-honk and unlock-all action.
Of course you can still accidentally press the lock-lever as passenger too, and then complain the driver locked you out or it auto-locked on ya!

I’ve given up on trying to figure out why the truck beeps at me. As long as I know I’ve secured the vehicle properly, go ahead and beep.

I've had that happen too, when I'm going to get out to open a gate, put the car in park and the car is still "on" - I've got the hybrid, so the engine isn't typically running.

It's likely a timing issue, that the truck may be still engaging park while you open the door.

Try waiting two seconds before you open the door and I doubt you will ever hear the horn do that, as the car is "telling" you that you are exiting the vehicle but it isn't prevented from moving... yet.

Setting the parking brake may also prevent the horn, but I'm in conjecture land on that.
This......👆

And a cellphone was being used while fueling too.😱

This happened twice recently; stopped truck, put in park, passenger opened their door, then the horn blew twice. I think there was a message on the dash, but it went away before I could read it.
What is this telling me??
I’ve had this happen to me a few times too. It’s always my wife as the passenger getting out to get the mail. Pretty sure I’m in park before she opens the door. It really doesn’t bother me and I just shrug my shoulders when she gives me a dirty look. It annoys her though.

Considering the manual indicates you can put the truck in park just by opening the driver door this beeping feature seems odd. (And annoying)

Are you sure the sound is not coming from your passangers?

Key still in ignition?
Or keyless entry?

It is harder to hit that lock button that far forward - but that for sure gives a double-honk and should unlock all doors actually - if truck sees key in ignition or fob in cabin.

So you are suggesting the OP's wife may have hit her lock button on passenger exit in same scenario?

Not tried that one actually - seems like if truck senses driver still in seat with weight sensor engaged, and driver's door didn't open - who cares if passenger gets out and locks all button.

Good easy test though.
Went out to replicate again, key in the ignition. I get out of my Mav in a one swoop motion. Park, hand on key while grabbing the door handle. Im hitting the lock button accidentally while opening the door and key about to come out. Beeps 2wice every time.
If I slow it down, park, key, handle (even if hitting the lock button) no honks.

I made the previous video
According to the title of this thread Horn Blows When Passenger Door Opens.
Then I got questions about what about the driver seat well there's only one of me to do the video.
So I reshot it from the driver's seat and deleted post #13 video.
Mike, thanks for the info. I just made and dropped a new video using a different phone. Post #13 deleted.

There's also this video showing how easy it is to, accidentally push the lock button when pushing open the passenger door.

None of the comments about the engine running or anything else are correct. It happens occasionally on my 2025 Lariat Hybrid. The car is off the doors are unlocked and it takes me more than the suggested few seconds for me to get out of the driver’s seat to open the rear door. It doesn’t happen often, but it is annoying when it does. Certainly could be some software glitch, but since it is so sporadic, I doubt one could get Ford to acknowledge it, let alone fix it.

I've had something similar happen recently. I parked the truck in my garage, placed it in park and shut it off. I got out of the driver's door, closed the driver's door, walked around to the passenger door, opened it and received two beeps from the horn upon opening the passenger door. I'd be lying if I said I didn't jump, as it was unexpected.

The two beeps occasionally happen for my driver's door. Truck is always in park, and shut off when it happens. There is no rhyme or reason for why it occasionally beeps. The process of parking, putting it in park, shutting off the vehicle, and exiting is identical every time, except every month or two, beep beep upon opening the door.
