So it sees the fob in the cabin.I've had something similar happen recently. I parked the truck in my garage, placed it in park and shut it off. I got out of the driver's door, closed the driver's door, walked around to the passenger door, opened it and received two beeps from the horn upon opening the passenger door. I'd be lying if I said I didn't jump, as it was unexpected.
The two beeps occasionally happen for my driver's door. Truck is always in park, and shut off when it happens. There is no rhyme or reason for why it occasionally beeps. The process of parking, putting it in park, shutting off the vehicle, and exiting is identical every time, except every month or two, beep beep upon opening the door.
Do you hear the unlock-all firing off and all the doors unlocking?
Of course if the double-honk just caused the heart rate to spike the thumping in the ears - easily missed!
It must have thought the lock-all button was pushed, or the outside door handle sensor for lock-all was pushed.
Any of the methods to lock all with fob seen (or thinks it sees it inside not outside) in cabin should cause that reaction.
Even your walk around to passenger door - was fob in cabin still?
Perhaps you touched door handle sensor for lock all.
Or it thought it saw it.
These descriptions are very interesting - I always wondered how accurate receivers can be with telling if fob is in or outside cabin. Besides normal computer glitches.
