They're worth it, if you were close I'd help you install them they're fairly simple. After having them in almost every vehicle except my 12 F-150 XLT I'll never order another vehicle without getting them.

When I installed them in my 12 F-150 XLT I tapped the OEM heated seat circuit, and when I would remote start the truck they would come on with remote start even though they were manual switches, The heated seat circuit turned off with the key and on with the key which was great. So you didn't have to worry about draining the battery, I don't know if you'd be able to install them the same way on the Maverick, that would be great though something to check when you do your install.

In my opinion GM does it best where you've got one button to turn on both the butt and back heater or a separate button to do just the back and it's three levels of heating.

I put the aftermarket heated seat insert kit switches in my 2012 F-150 XLT, My dad's O2 Corvette ZO6 and my wife's 2016 Ford fusion SE all when purchased new.. Each time I removed the seats from the vehicle and put them on a fold-out table I use in the garage made it much easier doing the install versus in the vehicle. This made it easier to run the wiring under the carpets and to the fuse panel in the passenger footwells then reinstall the seats and connect the wiring harness to the heated seats.

The F-150 was the worst as the seats were heavy as hell, the Corvette be in the easiest as the seats were light as a feather, especially compared to the f-150s.

Like Glenn said on days where your backs sore or you're just achy, they feel great and help with that too.

I seem to use mine almost every time I get in the car doesn't matter if it's 20f out or 100f. I've had 2 back surgeries, I love me some heated seats.

Folks in the companion forum have been retrofitting F-150s with the massaging seats by ordering about $2k in ford parts. I think they've all managed to do it without removing seats.

Growing up in the Northern tier I never knew of such luxuries as heated seats or steering wheels in the Sixties. Then moving to the South (Carolina, I've been here over 30 years now), I never figured I would have a use for them either. Once I got my Maverick, I would delay using the heater until the engine was fully warmed up to improved my MPG. During this time, I started using the heated seats/steering wheel and now I'm addicted. I did not know what I was missing even here in the South, when it's cold there's nothing like a warm steering wheel and seats! Our Prius that we've had for seven years has heated seats we never used until "discovering" their utility on the Maverick. I do think the Mavericks are better, they're adjustable.

Are you talking about pennies worth of electricity. As if that would really affect MPG.
Ideally you use the heated seats and steering wheel until you get heat from the engine and it warms the interior.

I think you missed my point. I do use the electric features first (knowing they have only a negligible affect on MPG) as there is no heat from the hybrid ICE for a while, there's not much sense in making the ICE run constantly just to heat the cabin sooner IMO. If it was really that cold, I would just remote start it before I ever got in.

You can

1) Get the Ford ones, the wires are there according to a few people who have done it, but you need to get the correct HVAC controller that has the buttons to use them. You might also need Forscan, not sure on that though.

2) Aftermarket add-ons, will require wiring and installing the buttons.
Thanks for the suggestions. I searched Ford Accessory website and they don't list Heated Seat kit!! Do you have a part number by any chance?

Ford themselves don't sell an accessory kit or an aftermarket add-on.

If it's even possible to do the OEM heated seat pads you would have to buy them all separately for the passenger and driver side as well as any needed wiring plus swap out your HVAC control for one with the heated seat buttons.

Will definitely be a more expensive route versus aftermarket. Just depends on your preference, I've yet to see a thread posted on someone that successfully installed the OEM heated seats after purchase.

Living in upper Massachusetts, remote start, heated seats and steering wheel was one of my requirements. And mirrors.

Once I finish adding the heated steering wheel, this will be next since the HVAC unit that I needed has the seats. I’ll put the aftermarket heat panels in the rear seats.

Just curious, are you going to be able to add the OEM heated seats if so post all the parts you need so others will know what's required if they go that route.

I purchased the luxury package with my 24 XLT which included the heated wheel and seats, The wheel is okay I don't finding myself using it very often especially compared to as much as I use the seats.

That’s the goal. It’s still TBD if possible. I need to see a wiring diagram but too cheap to pay for it.

Yeah and I understand everybody likes the OEM configuration, I do as well. But if the cost was over $200 for the heated seats I would go the aftermarket route as they work just as good if not the same as OEM.

I've installed aftermarket heat inserts in three different vehicles without any problems over the life of the vehicles. Never had one fail yet.
