Driver and passenger sides can be controlled separately. If you also have a heated steering wheel then that button is in the middle. They are very, very nice. I don't think I'll buy another vehicle without them. I'm turning into a wimp in my old age. I remember sitting on the vinyl seats of my dad's old Chevy Scottsdale and it was so cold they cracked!
I'm with you. I prefer to think of it as that I deserve it after 55 years of driving other vehicles that were pretty basic. After you have experienced heated seats, there's no going back!

Yeah and I understand everybody likes the OEM configuration, I do as well. But if the cost was over $200 for the heated seats I would go the aftermarket route as they work just as good if not the same as OEM.

I've installed aftermarket heat inserts in three different vehicles without any problems over the life of the vehicles. Never had one fail yet.
I hope you don't mind me chiming in here and I mean no criticism on your decision, but I'd like to offer another perspective. Most likely, you financed the truck and that extra $200 added what, $5 more a month to your payment? I used a random number, could be less, but I doubt much more. My point is compared to buying and installing a third party warmer with different controls, the OEM is a much better solution for the price.

No, my opinion on the heated seat install is You're going to be doing that after your purchase so it's going to save you money out of pocket regardless if you finance or pay cash.

I'm not 100% positive I'm only assuming but if you are capable to add the heated seat inserts as well as the HVAC control after the fact it's definitely going to cost over $200 I would surely assume.

If you want the OEM option after purchase most and almost all dealers won't do the install you'll have to do it yourself or pay extra for somebody else to do it for you.

The heated seats in mine are wimpy compared to my BMW. I leave it on high all the time, if I did that in my BMW I'd have sweat ball soup.

I understand Just to be clear, I was referring to a model or lux package that included heated seats rather than a dealer after purchase install.

Might want to take your Maverick in just to have it checked to be sure cuz both seats in mine get hot enough to make you sweat. You've got to turn it down to two or one after a few minutes.

Thanks, I will check it with an IR thermometer and compare it to a co-worker or neighbor. It has been on the highest setting continuously for the past three months and has never gotten too hot.

I wish I had an infrared thermometer to check mine cuz I almost guarantee they hit a hundred on high setting, they get hot. As does my 2019 explorer.

I only have one of those laser pointer style temp checkers. Dunno how accurate it is.

Are you using seat covers? I have seat covers on mine and find the low setting more than good enough, even on days with temps well below freezing. Maybe the cloth seats in the XLT transfer the heat better than the Lariat with the Vinyl seats?

I am not using seat covers, just the PU leather Lariat seats. I will compare it to a coworker's Lariat tomorrow, he said his gets too hot.

I have a Lariat with ActiveX seat covers and they seem to get as warm as I remember my company supplied Subaru's seats did. The Subaru was my first car with heated seats, and I missed them when I had to return the car after I changed positions within the company.

Thank you everyone. I added the Lux Package only for my wife, Living in North Texas, I personally will probably never use them, LOL
My wife wouldn’t have a vehicle without heated seats and she has problems with hand circulation in cold weather so she loves the heated steering wheel too.
