What is this $100 fix you speak of?

Unplug before they can see it and don't show them your receipt for this purchase.I would not have any problem paying $100 for the autostopeliminator if it was offered from Ford. I worry that it might damage something in the electrical system and the warranty might not cover it.
The Maverick's auto start-stop is annoying.I've had this feature in a few cars. And it's become second nature that after starting the car. I turn it off before starting out. I hate it on my Subaru Forester because of its location to turn it off. Tucked low on the dashboard. Mixed in with a bunch of other switches. I like the location of it on the Bronco. Right at eye level under the main display. Too bad that isn't the case on the Maverick. Try giving it time. After a while I'm betting it'll be second nature about turning it off.
That's a great idea! The 2014 Crostrek Hybrid I used to have was rough on start up as well. The Forester's not much better. The Maverick's auto start-stop is annoying.
But the Subaru Crosstrek's is unbearable due to the rumble shaking at every restart.
Make the off switch easy to locate by sticking on a clear 1/2" bumper.

You will understand the first time you are driving in 90 degree heat with the A/C on. When Auto/Stop turns off the engine the A/C drops down to about 10% power. Or when you are driving in 20 degree cold and the heat reduces. The constant stopping and starting of the "starter" is irritating as hell. I can't even calculate how much more often the starter is engaged compared to a vehicle without it.Why do you “hate that” in capital letters no less ?
I’ve never had this feature in a vehicle and don’t understand yet why I should hate it with such passion.
I guess that I am ok with the stop/start after having an eco-boost 2.0 for 4 years in a Ford escape. I think it is a good engine and proved to be reliable. I am currently renting a Ford Ranger with the 2.3 and think it is noisy and seems like less hp than the 2.0.If you hate it, blame the EPA not Ford.
According to AAA, the Auto Stop/Start feature provides about 7% fuel savings per year. So the actual cost of the mod is $100 down, plus an annual 7% extra for fuel.Spend the $$, you’ll never miss it but will be rewarded with a much more pleasant driving experience as long as you own your truck.
That was the first mod on my new Raptor, never looked back
.
If I wanted to save gas, I would have bought a hybrid Maverick. And, for the way I drive, the savings would be far less anyway as I don't have that much stopping per mile driven. But regardless, I don't like the engine shutting down at stops.According to AAA, the Auto Stop/Start feature provides about 7% fuel savings per year. I would think you're actually activating a relay so you'd have to hit it every time.not sure yet if getting in the habit of pushing the switch is worth $100. Have to agree, not too keen about effing something up with a third party bypass.
Possible to weigh down the button or duct tape it in a recessed position?
Just press the button. It's really not difficult. If I wanted to save gas, I would have bought a hybrid Maverick. And, for the way I drive, the savings would be far less anyway as I don't have that much stopping per mile driven. But regardless, I don't like the engine shutting down at stops.
Some people hate broccoli, I hate auto start/stop.
