I was jus out in the garage putting in LED reverse lights. When I pulled the tail light housing from the drivers side. You can see strait to the rear wheel and ground. All kinds of dirt and stuff from the road gets thrown up into the inner part of the bed and light housing. I am definitely doing mud flaps and looking for a better remedy. Anyone else noticed this.

I had heard that when you remove either the bed cubby or the blank panel where the outlet would be, it's open to the ground. Dunno if it's worth doing more than just putting on mud flaps.

Not worried here, I bought mud flaps and spend no time looking at the underside of the truck bed

Double edge sword thereā€¦
Open so dirt can get in there but I assume it isnā€™t trapped so what doesnā€™t fall out can be washed out.
Seal it up and I can guarantee dirt will still collect there but make it harder to drain out or clean.

Yep, wide open - I hose the area, and the whole underbody each wash.

I have the ford molded guards with have the big space missing on the drivers side. So, after I drive through water you can see where it literally runs out from under the tail light onto the body.

ehh, that is sketchy as it floods during the rainy season here. I purchased Rokblokz as they look better and cover that space. They are still on sale, use promo code BFCM21 if you want to get those

Maybe invest in something like this if youā€™re worried about it?

Comparison photos with other trucks? Seems like it may be a common configuration for pickups?

Being in New England, was planning on having the truck spread with oil. Actual up here there is N.H. Oil which is a vegetable type oil. There are better oils, but what is available if you want the cavities, door panels etc sprayed.

Made a second post with fyi videos and not saying this is the best, but one around here that will be using.
