I asked this when I got my truck and was informed it’s a legality thing because hybrid/electric vehicles are virtually silent when operating under electric. There’s a speaker located in the front that makes that sound. There is a part you can google for about $50 that will replace the speaker to disable and not throw a code if you are interested.
Wrong speed, it cuts out about 20 mph.

And the forward speed sound just isn't that loud.
Have someone else start it and put it in Drive while you walk around truck - and see just how low it is, how far out you walk to not hear it.
Then go to a parking lot and wait for a Toyota hybrid to start in Drive.
Both are loud in Reverse.

Whistle is very obvious from 25 to 30 miles, even with radio on, I can still hear that. My wife think it is so annoyed, like police car followed you.

So, what is "whistle" for, transmission ?

Thanks
There are baffles for sound deadening in the side fenders near the front door hinges, to block some engine noise coming thru.
I've seen 3 models now (of 3 friends), where we all had the left one falling forward at the top by some amount - not pulled up where the shape of the foam showed it should have been.
Get the right angle and it'll make noise.

You can see it thru the open door looking behind the fender.
Yours may be worse.

I didn't hear it in my 22, but for sure notice the "siren" in the 25 at low speeds? Also my backup alarm cuts out when the ICE kicks in while in reverse, while my 22 had the back up alarm regardless if the ICE was running or not?

Sure - ICE is running like any non-hybrid backing up, so not silent anymore, so don't need to warn anyone close.

Good point though.
Perhaps all those with 25MY that don't seem to hear what they did with prior MY's - are still dealing with colder weather and ICE running from the get-go or lower speeds for warmup, so of course no hybrid sound yet.

I just checked, you are right, on driver side, there is nothing, on passenger side, I can see a black faux leather foam baffle (see picture)

I guess if I put foam pad into the driver side gap, it may reduce the "whistle" a lot, but not sure, this is intentional, because, there are DC to DC converter on driver side, it may need more air flow ?

Actually on your driver side picture - I think that is it, almost totally fallen over.
Maybe it's the inside of the wheel fender cover.
If it really fell over that far - don't waste your arm with scratches like I did, get that coat hanger.

I had straightened and pulled mine up once, and discovered it down again recently.
This 2nd time I felt a bracket sticking out in what appeared to be a good spot to better wedge the foam on.
Time will tell if it really helps.

Oh - DCDC convertor over by tranny
