I have also considered the roll ups but don't like the idea of Velcro that keeps it in place on many designs.
The BAK X4S does not use Velcro, like the Truxedo’s.
I started with Pro X15, then went to the X4S.
I made use of RealTruck’s 30 day exchange policy.

Thanks for the info, I will revisit it and add it back to my list.

After a ton of reading, I narrowed it down to a few choices, including the BAK BAKFlip MX4. Then, I remembered that one of my friends owns a truck accessory shop. He recommended the BAKFlip MX4 for its quality, fit, lack of customer complaints and great service from the company, so I bought one and I love it.

It looks great, fits great, and works great. You can drive with it partially folded or totally folded up against the rear window, or you can completely remove it with just two bolts that have a large thumb wheel; no tools necessary.

I narrowed it down to the BAK G2 or the Gator FX3 and went with the FX3. Both had lots of positive reviews and are very similar to the REV/Factory Ford covers.

Price has gone up $80.00 Or I couldn't get the same deal, was told this was the best they could do on the FX3

Just curious why did you switch I've been leaning towards the pro X15

I did have fitment issues. I struggled to get it to latch, with the tailgate up. Turned out the bottom of the rails were flexing inward, so it was tipping down; and never latched. The metal of the Mav bed ended in that spot. I put in shims and got it to work. But then I was getting flapping at 45mph. I tried to adjust the tightness and was back to it not latching. That was the final straw for me.

With the cover material, I could see dirt collecting at the support bar ends and some from my hands put sealing the Velcro. Although I didn’t try the 303 protectorant others said helps.

I thought I’d be ok with having to pull the sides and run my hand to attach the Velcro, but that added annoyance for me.

Also thought I would mind unlatching the top each time I opened the tailgate, but it too was annoying. Soooo much nicer with the X4S that I can just pop open and close the tailgate without touching the cover. Now, do I use my tailgate a lot? No. But when I do it is much nicer.

Others on here love there X15 and don’t have any of the latching issues I had. Some also say some of us exaggerate the flapping issue. All I can say, is that it did on mine and others riding with me heard it too. If I could have gotten it tighter, I think the flapping might have gone mostly away. I was just tired of struggling with it.

Do you have any leak issues with yours? I'm on my second (first was replaced under warranty). Both leak like sieves. And I don't mean through the corners or anywhere where the cover meets the truck - instead water actually seems to be getting into/through the aluminum panels and then leaking all over the bed through where the locking mechanisms attach to the panels.

It's really disappointing. Below is what I'm dealing with every time we get even a decent amount of rain.

And, all of these recommended tri-fold hard covers do not interfere with the Factory "Bed Tie-Down Locking Rails with Two Locking Brackets", i.e. the sliding cleats? I read somewhere in this forum that the Rough Country cover's clamps interfere with them, but I may be wrong...

Thanks!

I will do a review on the Gator FX3 Tri Fold (very similar to the REV sold by Ford) installation and if water leaks in anywhere but being out of rainy season the water test will be from an automated car wash.

Mine does not leak at all... not a drop. The only water that ever gets inside is a very small amount that comes in through the sides of the tailgate. I could probably seal that up easily if it was an issue.
