Older folks buy what works for them, the marketing has noting to do with it. I bought a Maverick for two reasons. first I can flat tow it behind my motorhome, and second because its a hybrid. I realize its not as nice to drive as a Santa Cruz since I've had two of them. However, they didn't have the two options I required. So the Maverick works for me.

I don’t see why not, seniors are the ones that are more likely to be able to go buy one for cash. A lot of the old curmudgeons that post here paid cash for Their mavericks.
I purchase with cash. But Ford makes more money on purchases financed through them. Marketing and design will target the demographic more likely to finance.

I did likewise, and you posted what I had planned to.
It is more lucrative for them to sell loans than low-margin vehicles. Even a Maverick, on a five or six year loan, gets pricey with interest.

I didn't pay cash but financed for lower interest than my investments were making. Let's see a younger person do that.

I put 2/3 down & financed the rest at 1%, paid off last month. There was not 'advertising or marketing' for the Maverick, once the word of mouth was out, it sold out. At the young age of 59 when I purchased it, I didn't need to impress anyone, but I did & the Maverick continues to impress me each time I drive it.

I'm 68. There is a Maverick and a Kia Soul (EV) in the driveway. I also paid cash for the Maverick (though that's a first for me).

I'm glad I don't watch many commercials these days (including the annoying video ads on this forum).

Ford marketing the Maverick to young people? I didn't know they were marketing it at all. I never heard of it until a dealer told me about it when I was looking at Broncos last month.

I have a 2004 Chevy Colorado that I brought new (cash because I am old) and want to replace it to be able to play music with bluetooth instead of a CD. Brake hold, back up camera, etc are good too. I haven't been able to replace it with another truck because they quit making pickups under 200 inches long that fit in my garage with everything else in there.

Paying cash is more convenient with less paperwork and insurance requirements, and I would have to unfreeze my credit report. But, I find car salesmen less interested in selling to cash customers. A low interest loan and investing the funds certainly deserves consideration.

Marketing? Maverick marketing is like the Chevy Volt and the Honda Clarity was. I owned the Volt for 3 years and the Clarity for 3 years also. In that time, I never saw an ad, print or TV. for either car.

At 71, I paid cash. Also don't pay much attention to advertising since the only commercials with people who look like me are drug commercials. Boring. Its a smart truck, easy to drive and very low key.Tall enough to slide in/out very easily and since I don't hear much anymore...quiet. I'd rather save my money than buy a $60,000 ego trip.
I didn't see any advertisement on the Maverick when I ordered mine 10-2-22. Still haven't seen any advertisement, as it doesn't look like this truck needs any, lol. Just heard about it and had been looking for something cool for a few years. After 408 days it arrived. I'm a Sr fellow as well, be 60 in a month

64 here, been paying cash for vehicles since I was in my 40,s. People don't realize if you can make a monthly payment, you can save up and pay cash for a vehicle. Pay yourself instead of the banks and credit unions!
EXACTLY! And if you miss a payment to yourself, it doesn't affect your credit.

I'm 35 where do I fall in this target demographic? People in their 20s/down say I'm old and people in their 40s/up say I'm young. Can't win. Love my Maverick.
