  1. Dim display screens on new 2026 Lariat Hybrid

I’ve finally got the answer I was looking for. The day/night sensor on the dash was the problem. A new sensor has me back to normal with my screens.
  2. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

Yes that’s true if the lights are off. The + highlights when you turn the lights on. However, you can only go to a +1.
  3. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

Yes, I did that first thing. That control works as it should, as well as the brightness control in the sync settings. This problem is not to do with those adjustments. This problem is caused by the system being stuck in the night position.
  4. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

I’ll do that, I checked with the service department again and will get it in on 6/25/2026. So that’s next week. I’m not very optimistic that they will find the problem, but they could I suppose.
  5. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

This problem is exactly what a bad or disconnected day/night sensor would cause. However, I certainly don't know if that's what it really is. There are many possibilities here. I'll let the service department take a crack at it, and see where we go from there.
  6. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

That is a possibility, but not until I’ve exhausted all other avenues. I don’t share your opinion that the selling dealer will be any better than my local dealer.
  7. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

I agree with you, You have laid out the logical approach and that’s what I plan to follow. Who knows, I might get lucky. The biggest problem I see is that this is not an isolated issue. This has affected many other people besides me. So it’s not likely a loose or broken wire.
  8. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

I didn’t buy it from them, they didn’t have what I was looking for. That shouldn’t make any difference, because I’ve bought a lot of new vehicles from them. That’s why I know the service department quite well.
  9. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

My problem is that I have very little confidence in my local Ford dealer service department. Don't ask me why I have that opinion. So I most likely will have to trouble shoot it myself and fix it, or live with it.
  10. Dim display screens on new 2026 Lariat Hybrid

I'm going to try lifting the sensor out of the dash to check it. I am also looking for a wiring diagram to see where that wire connects to. So I can check that end of the wire as well.
  11. Dim display screens on new 2026 Lariat Hybrid

That is not a reasonable solution when there isn't another Ford dealer around for many many miles.
  12. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

Yes, the headlights and other lights all come on as if it were night. The system thinks its night all of the time.
  13. Dim display screens on new 2026 Lariat Hybrid

I know for sure this is not normal. This is my third Maverick and they all worked the same. This one worked correctly for three weeks and then suddenly changed. I agree with wblake68, either the wire has been disconnected from the sensor or there is a possible problem in the sync system which is...
  14. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

It will be a while, the Ford dealer told me it will be the 14th of July before I can get a spot in line. I knew that would be the case, so I hoped that there was an easy fix. No such luck.
  15. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

I should be, the truck is 3 weeks old, with 400 miles on it.
  16. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

Yes my head light switch always defaults to auto mode.
  17. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

My sensor seems to have stopped working. It stays on night all of the time so that my screen displays are always dim unless I turn off the auto headlights.
  18. Day - Night light sensor replacement?

Has anyone had their Day - Night light sensor on the dash or associated components replaced. If so what was actually done and what was the symptoms of the problem?
  19. Dim display screens on new 2026 Lariat Hybrid

After some checking, that didn’t fix the problem. The problem stems from the day - night sensor not working correctly. It is in the night position no matter how much light there is.
