Wouldn't that require a completely new powertrain? I feel like its more likely we could see that in the new Ranger.
New Ranger gets a hybrid and a DIESEL

The move would be to upgrade to the battery pack so it could feed the traction motor to full power. Could get close to 300hp without giving up too much in way of efficiency.

If you're in Europe. I'm sure the USA will get shafted.
Europe has had a hybrid diesel. We are the only ones who have not. And I can tell you from experience it is awesome

Honestly would be really surprised if they did that since they dropped the diesel option from the F150.

Screw the gas mileage, give me a powerboost hybrid. How amazing would that be?
If you mean, "Would I be amazed if that happened?" then the answer is a resounding Yes.

Not necessarily. Ford could build a more powerful electric motor, or add a second electric motor to the rear axle, and add a second battery. If I recall correctly, from one of the more in-depth reviews, they mentioned that one of the ways Ford saved money on the Maverick Hybrid was not using the smaller components used on other modern hybrids, which drives up the cost. In addition they could simply tune the computer in the vehicle to give combined power all the time, rather than worrying about efficacy.

More power? No thanks.

Instead, I'll take even less hp for greater efficiency. Or that diesel hybrid would work too.

No not a completely new powertrain.

To add AWD Hybrid

1. Either add another HV battery or make the current one bigger.

2. Add an Electric Motor to power the rear wheels

3. Add additional power electronics to the the Inverter to power the rear motor.

4. Update Software.

Put bigger batteries in it, make the motor charge/power them as a generator not a drive wheels, add second electric motor for rear drive, add plug in so it charges up at night (cheaper rates after midnight) and gets tax credits and can go in the car pool lanes. Need about 100 mile range on batteries, then ice takes over and charges and runs the electric motors . Never have to stop and recharge and never worry about batteries goin dead while driving. I had a 2016 Volt and averaged about 57 miles on all electric. Got 105mpg between 9gal gas tank fill ups every other month.

when he used the term PowerBoost I thought he was talking about the PowerBoost F150, which is the only vehicle I have seen that term used on. The PowerBoost F150 a very different powertrain setup vs what the Maverick has. If all he is talking about is a PHEV, then yea bigger battery and slap some motors on the rear wheels for AWD.

A plug-in Maverick would be nice.

I just looked it up, I last filled my Volt on October 4, today is December 13. I'll have to fill it in January, as it is a little over half a tank right now. (I drive about 250 miles/week.)
