Speaking of changes, I know Ford is gradually changing from SYNC Infotainment system to the open-source Android Automotive system, and has already started using it in some of their other vehicles.

I wonder if that will be part of the Maverick 2028 refresh?

Anyway, I think Ford needs to introduce a Maverick Super Duty like they did with the Ranger in Australia:

The ultimate troll would be if they did this and just sold it as a ranger with Maverick badging.

Without even bothering to look for the video, I know there will be no significant changes to the Maverick for the 2026 model year.

They probably will change options included in the various trim levels and I imagine getting rid of one of the Lobo trims eventually.

I imagine Sync4 gets replaced as it will be a bit dated by 2028 (announced in 2019, released 2020 for the 2021 model year car)

It will still be the C2 platform, but will be a major change of sheetmetal, interior (Think Nissan Frontier 2005-2021 then 2022-2025...both on the D-40 platform, but very different).

I wonder if we will see something done with the rear seat, rear bulkhead. Split Fold seat or pass through bulkhead?

Maybe a few aerodynamic tweaks to the front (top 4-6" inches of the engine bay is empty ... built more upright than needed to look more 'trucky'...) and windshield rake to improve economy? That means changes that effect cowl and engine bulkhead, but Escape is on the C2 platfrom as well and is definitely more aerodynamic.

I wonder if we will see more convergence of Maverick and Bronco sport in terms of appearance and content to streamline manufacturing?
