Anyone think there may be an extended cab, larger bed option in the future?

I wish it would happen, but I don’t think it will. I think it’s a lot harder to make this kind of change in a unibody than on a body-over-frame like the Ranger.

I think the only way they could do it is to make a 2 door extended cab variant, but it's highly unlikely for this body style.

100% no.

EPA fuel economy rules are based upon wheelbase and track, so anything that changes that is in effect a completely different vehicle for government regulations.

The Feds want you out of private transportation vehicles, but barring that, want to force you into electric vehicles. What the end consumer wants is of little interest to them.

The initial release of the 2024 Ranger will only be a crew cab but I have read they are considering a super cab version later in the model year. It would still be about a foot longer than the Maverick but if this is true there is no way they would make that same style change to the Maverick.

All they would have to do is make it like the Chevy Avalanche. A Fold down rear panel. This would keep the truck the same size. When you need to haul something longer just fold seat down then fold the front of bed and window down. 4.5 bed to about a 6 foot. with the tailgate down total of 8 feet. The front portion would be a little narrower and less height but still usable length. You would also maintain the roof for the rigidity needed for strength.
Maybe on the redesign model. Would be smart.

The maverick was designed as a small, fuel efficient, lightweight truck and does its job well.
If that doesn’t fit your needs then an F150 would probably work for you.

That will take away why the Maverick was promoted as a small truck, not only that it fits perfect in my garage. I am more than satisfied with XLT Hybrid.
Yeah, love the fact that I can park the Maverick in my standard garage. Actually, I park both the Maverick and my Jeep wrangler in the garage.

Really hoping ford doesn't bloat up the mav and leaves it as it is. If you want a bigger truck, buy a bigger truck.

Extended cab? It is already a full four door truck. Leave it alone and move on to Ranger or F150 lines. 199" fits perfect in my garage with a workbench and two walls full of tools. A foot longer and I'd not be able to sit in the carman cave during the winter and smoke cigars while swilling scotch. Yes. it has an exhaust fan.
