I think I ordered after some of you (I ordered 9/7/21), but I’m getting frustrated. Every time I talk to my salesman or sales manager, they have no information. I also wonder why a few dealerships near me have Mavericks, but mine hasn’t had any. Is something wrong or do I just need to continue being patient?

All you can do is call the ford directly and verify your order is in. If order is verified then all you can do is wait, which if it is a hybrid you are looking at this summer. Nothing dealer or ford can do at this point.

Two things - dealer allocations and constraint items.

The Ford dealer allocation system causes a lot of discussion and dissent here on the forum. Those other dealers you mention probably have more vehicles allocated to them by Ford. More info in this thread - https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...cations-based-on-a-percentage-of-orders.2260/

If you have options on your Maverick that are on the constraint list, that will hold up getting scheduled for production. Tonneau covers, luxury packages, and hybrid powertrain are a few constraint items. More info in this thread - https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/constraints-commodities-for-january-2022.6547/

There are people that ordered before you in June, July, and August that are still not scheduled for production. And there are people that ordered in September that already have their trucks because of allocations, constrained items, and whatever other magic is at work in Ford's scheduling system.

The bottom line is to be patient. Hopefully, your Maverick will be scheduled for production in the coming weeks.

Let's take a look at the big picture for a moment. Did you order a hybrid? What trim level? What add-ons? What packages, if any?

Did you go into your dealer and put down a deposit?
Did they get a copy of your DL?
Did they get your email address?
Did they give you a copy of your purchase order stating what you ordered and the cost?
Does it have your priority code listed and your order number on it?
What is your priority code? It should be a number from 10-19.
Did you get a confirmation email from Ford?

Some things to keep in mind:

1. EPA didn't approve mileage until the 3rd week of October.
2. Emissions wasn't approved until the first week of December
3. The OKTB wasn't given until 7 or 8 December.
4. Ford had problems with logistics and getting parts, which resulted in plant shut downs several times.
5. The plant was closed during Thanksgiving week.
6. Ford was shup down for two weeks for Christmas and New Years.
7. On Thursdays, Ford sends out emails notifying customers that their order has gone into production. The next scheduled round of emails won't happen again until 13 January. No emails this week.

A few other things to keep in mind:

Ford isn't processing each Maverick in the order they were received. They set the line up the most efficient way they can with like vehicles and parts availability.

If Ford is missing just one thing, say, the spray in bed liner, tow hitch, or whatever else may be backordered, that will bump your vehicle back until they have parts in.

Your dealer belongs to a region, and your region looks at orders.

Your dealer has so many allocations per month, and there could be more people that have a lower priority number than yours. And this is where the region looks at orders, and can lower your number below 10 if allocations are available at your dealer, and then Ford looks at the region.

There are probably more factors, but these are a few things that may help you understand the ordering and production selection process.

For me, I reserved online at Ford in June. I went into the dealer on 15 October and placed an order for an XLT hybrid with the lux package and co-pilot in Velocity Blue. Got the confirmation from Ford within 10 minutes. I personally am not expecting to get my Maverick until April or May. I'll be surprised if it's any sooner than that.

I hope this explains to clear things up and help you understand better, and gives you peace of mind.

Thank you all. I knew I would get great answers here. Just a few answers to your questions…not a hybrid, yes a large deposit, yes my drivers license, priority number is 19, yes have order number, and yes a couple of additions such as the cover. All of your answers made my decision easy…I’m going to be patient. Thanks.

1 - ask your dealer to move your priority code to 10 - that is a dealer priority (they can assign 10 through 19), 19 is the lowest priority for the dealer's orders.

2 - remove anything you can add to the truck yourself. Mudflaps, tonneau, floor mats, etc. Why? Even if they aren't constraint items, they could delay your order. Think about this from someone whose job it is to schedule builds. I have to build 8 trucks next week, and have 10 orders. All 10 are exactly the same, but 2 have a tonneau. I am going to apply the first unique filter that gets me to 8 trucks to build - no tonneau orders are being built next week as a result, only the 8 trucks without a tonneau. So, keep factory-only packages/items (moonroof, 360, fx4, etc) - skip the rest!

You will get a build date eventually. Just got to stick with it!

I used to be frustrated until I got the Ford email a few months ago telling me to chill out and they were giving me a bag of cheap plastic FIT parts as way of compensation for my concerns. What's an eight to ten month wait beween friends?

I'm frustrated as well with my early July order. I'm still waiting for a production email. I try to avoid this forum because it just adds to the frustration.

I'm right there with you, I'm early August and I don't have anything from Ford at all yet, other than a "Thanks for waiting we're giving you FIT stuff" and a copy of my order that I asked the dealer to email me so I had it. I get paranoid that I'm going to not get a truck until next August.

I'm especially frustrated because we're down to one car and were hoping (back in August) to have it by now. I ordered a FE Hybrid, I'm basically gonna be one of the last orders from what I've heard about the FEs.

I won't be buying through this process again, that's for sure. This has been the worst from top to bottom. Ford over promised and under communicated. They may have done well to sit on this another year or two until 'rona-related supply chain issues could be ironed out better. And, they also missed the mark on market research, and forecasting demand. Hopefully next year they have more than one line producing them half the time. Still, Ford makes good trucks (when they make trucks) and hopefully the wait is worth it. At the end of the day, the wait is no different than if I were being picky buying from a dealership in the normal way. It's just this process has been hot garbage and I'm not playing again.

July 30th order day...nothing yet, not that big a deal but sympathize with others desperate to replace an older unreliable vehicle.

Ordered a Mini-cooper 10+ yrs ago and they sent a Google Map type image that let you could see exactly where your Mini was 24 hrs a day as a little arrow pointed to it's location even when crossing the Atlantic via ship. Ford has dropped the ball on communication.

I asked my dealer to move my priority number and he said he couldn’t because there were people ahead of me with numbers 10-18. I asked that’s the best I can do.🤷🏻‍♀️

I ordered my Mav hybrid on July 10 and just got a build date this week for the first week in March. You ordered about 2 months later. Hopefully they will be scheduling faster now. But it shouldn't be more than 2 months. I know... that is a hell of a lot of Thursdays. My build email arrived about 1pm last Thursday. So, patience now, and after you get your build email.

I didn't remove anything from my build. Hybrid, Lariat Lux, mud flaps, all weather mats.
