Okay I go to the car wash every other day. The temp in upstate NY has been in the teens. My gas door will not open. I have a XLT Eco .. No buttons or cables. You just push the gas door and it is supposed to click open. Any ideas on a easy way to get the gas door open?
Seriously every other day? I wash my vehicles once a year!

I remember back in the day living in the Midwest. You used to get a free car wash with every 10 gallons of gas if the weather was decent I always got a car wash. I'd end up getting a car wash every couple weeks.
Maybe the OP has a monthly subscription and wants to get his money's worth.

That could be embarrassing😱
It's been in the 🥶 teens in Upstate New York.
So? I've been to winter carnival numerous times. Grizle T's and the Rusty Nail, I think they expect you to go outside.

When I feel that cold wind blowing up my back, I know I am home again. It's tough from Florida but Saranac Lake every 2nd weekend in February 1985 to 2014. It was a good run. I believe Ice Pallace is a better name than cactus gray

what's this pry tool for? i've used scissor jacks since forever and can't think of why this is needed.
It's used to manually open the hybrid fuel door, but should work for a stuck ecoboost. Page 178 in owner's manual.

Huh? It can be used for the fuel door I guess, but it isn't mentioned there:

*Edit: Based on what I know about the thickness and durability of paint on the Maverick, I wouldn't dare use a hard plastic anything as a pry tool in body panel gaps.

A far better guess would be that the little plastic tip goes on the end of the tire tool and is used to pry the XL lug nut covers off. ;)

Also read: Pry tool that slots into one of the winch rods that you can use to pry off center caps or hub caps to get access to lug nuts on XL wheels.

The emergency release is for the hybrid not the EcoBoost.
You omitted the previous page of the manual.

You omitted some information
I sure did, but it wasn’t “grab the plastic pry tip from behind the rear seats.”

Step 3 undid what was done in step 1.

Take a look at my post again I wasn't done posting or editing. 👍
I was done, though. 😉

My response was to a post suggesting the use of the plastic pry tip. The manual filler door release process is well-documented around here and off-topic to the OP, so my intent wasn’t to regurgitate it.

Go back thru the carwash, hot water followed by hot air dry will probably melt the freezer. Then do the blow-dry suggestion to push away remaining moisture.
Then..let your truck get dirty until spring.

I had that problem on my 22 XLT. There was an error Code / Check engine light. It had to do with a vapor lock. It required a major repair (under warranty).
