Frozen gas cap door

Okay I go to the car wash every other day. The temp in upstate NY has been in the teens. My gas door will not open. I have a XLT Eco .. No buttons or cables. You just push the gas door and it is supposed to click open. Any ideas on a easy way to get the gas door open?

^ Hair dryer. Or warm water... Little chance of anything cracking because of temperature difference.

No. It is a non-locking door

Has happened enough times for me to use a magnetic {home} vent cover - before storms - protecting from ice and snow filling pivot of fuel door .. which I remove before leaving home...

for the hair dryer fans - Try plugging in at the pump lol

Sometimes it takes 8 ounces depending on outdoor wind chill....

try lock de-icer spray ( can version not the small one with the inserter nozzle) to spray around the door when frozen . Can also use after the car wash to coat the door seal and plunger to keep from freezing
