I love my 2025 XL but I am not happy with the battery problems::
  1. Jan 2025 The truck needed a jump start in the dealer’s lot before I could test drive it. I figured the truck was probably idle for some time and gave it no more thought.
  2. March 2025 Jump Started and Florence Ford Checked battery it was low & charged it
  3. July 2025 used Ford App to get a jump and went to Sumter Ford Checked - battery was low & Charged
  4. Sep 2025 used Ford App to get a jump and returned to Sumter Ford. This time I told them about the screen message that stated “System Off to Save Battery Please turn ignition off or start engine”
  5. Since I don’t have touch start I have to use key to stop and start the engine. This message kept appearing when I turned engine off and removed the key. This visit seemed more productive since they have been researching the issue and so far they have had the truck for several days.

    Fingers crossed.
* * * UPDATE * * *

The battery was tested and failed - ran system test and passed - replaced battery - retested for draw 4 times and passed within FORD spec. The dealer replaced the battery with a BAGM 48H6 760 battery.

So far, all is well in the Maverick universe. (y)

Dealer should be able to fix that.
Charging system Software update,
Do a load test on the AGM battery and replace if needed.
If I was about to test drive a new current model and it needed a jump I would not touch that one. I’d look at others no matter what they did or said.

Another possibility is a parasitic battery drain of some kind. Seems the dealer should be able to find this, does not sound like it's very common to the EB's.

It appears no Maverick Ecoboost or hybrid is immune from parasitic power drain or inadequate charging. Maybe it was a bad battery? As I recall, the EcoBoost were supposed to be equipped with a AGM battery lot of them ended up having a flooded battery.

I didn't drive mine for a week and a half, it sent me an email that remote start was disabled due to low battery. It did start normally so it couldn't have been too low. It does have an AGM battery.

Wow, I haven't done 4 jump starts in over 50 years of driving, hope you get it figured out!

It looks like your draining your battery by not shutting off your truck. Ask your dealer what you're doing wrong.

From what the message says when you turn it off and remove the key, it thinks it's in accessory mode? Might be a bad ignition switch.

Low-hanging fruit is to get the battery checked. Sometimes you get a bad one.

Others have reported getting a bad battery - they do happen.
Charges up fine, voltage after few hours appears correct, but can't hold a charge.
They need to test overnight if they haven't.

Then again - warranty replace requires pretty bad battery (less than 40% SOC, not sure if that's battery charger reading, truck reading, or multimeter reading with chart), sounds like under what's needed to start the EB.

The fact they charged it and it didn't drain dead in a day or two at least means not a likely parasitic draw, at least not a strong one.

In your step 5 though - how long between Key to off and removed, and opening the door to actually turn off the radio if playing?
Anyone in house possibly using the radio in ACC mode for decent chunks for time?

Lights will stay on for a time after key removal (less and less as battery is lower and lower V), as will radio play - until door is opened.

I used to have that pop up all the Time this past Winter when I had My BS BB and it's one of the reasons i got rid of it. The BS's had a Battery recall but I never got one for it while I had it. I never had to jump it on those real cold days but I did put a charger on it and some days it cranked over real slow but started. IMO my battery should have been replaced and it sounds like IMO yours needs replaced. You might have got a bad battery it happens and that's what your warranty is for.
