When I was in high school I frequently drove my Dad's 1982 Bronco. Started college with a used chevy cavalier (hated that car), and then an old hand-me-down 1983 VW GTI (manual) which I loved and drove until it died.

The first car I bought with my own money was a new 1992 Ford Mustang (2.3L 4 cylinder, manual, for less than $9000). I drove the snot out of that car in college and grad school and put a ton of miles on it.

I then had a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT (3L 6 cylinder, manual). I really liked that truck, and really its size is quite similar to the Maverick! But I was stupid and had leased it. Ended up having to trade it.

I traded that on a 2003 Ford ZX3 hatchback (manual) because I ended up in a situation where I was doing a ton of daily driving. I put over 150k on that car. Solid daily driver.

I next bought a 2012 Ford 150 (ecoboost) when I ended up with a lower-mileage life style again.

Traded that in 2018 with 85k miles on it straight-up for a used 2017 VW Jetta (1.4L turbo, manual) when I again ended up in a high-mile daily drive situation when I moved to the DFW area.

I now have a woodworking shop up and running at home and I find myself really needing something that can haul plywood and other lumber, but I am still in a high-mile situation. Actually, even higher than before because I got transferred in March. So the Maverick hybrid is a perfect fit for my needs!

Bought a 2004 Focus SVT, and flew from Florida to Michigan to pick it up. Fun car that handled incredibly well, and had lots of goodies ahead of their time. This is a pic of an identical one below. BTW, my first Ford was a 1951 F1 pickup I bought for $150).

2004 SVT Cobra, all stock, IRS, 6sp, blower...

1968 fastback at local drag strip, locked spool, 31 spline axles, top loader 4 speed, 427 Tunnel Port side oiler Nascar engine, dual carbs, redlined at 7500 rpms. 625+hp, Turned 11.2 at 132mph this run. Fastest I have ever driven a car.

1997 F150 4x4 supercab that I purchased new in 1997.
After owning it for three years I sold it to my brother-in-law, because my wife wouldn't drive it (too big). He owned it for a long time and then sold it to his daughter and son-in-law. They owned it until 2018 and then gave the truck back to me.
I sold it when I got my new Maverick. 250,000 miles and still going strong. Original paint, motor, and tranny.

I never saw it in person, but I remember hearing about my uncle's Courier and wondering why we didn't have diesel Rangers here. It kind of sparked my curiosity in cars.

I actually don't even have pictures. This one's from Wikipedia. I remember his looked similar, but it had a flat tray for a bed (which probably describes 90% of the things).

The first Ford I owned was an '09 F-150. Stepside bed, front bench, sunroof. I really wish I'd kept that truck, because I've never seen another one like it.

I owned a few more, mostly Explorers and one super-problematic 6MT Fusion. But the absolute favourite I ever owned was a 2016 F-150 with the 5.0, 4x2, and a rear locker. Best financial mistake I've ever made.

My Mach-E was fantastic, but Alberta really just isn't that friendly to EVs yet. If I were in BC, ON, or QC, it'd be different. But I'm not, so I jumped on the currently-ridiculous selling values, flipped it for profit, and jumped into another 2016 F-150 with the 2.7 Ecoboost. It's kind of a weird in-between of my '09 and old '16, but not quite the same as either. It'll do until the Mav shows up.
