Thanks for the great review! I am still waiting on mine from Bob Tomes in McKinney. Mine is a September order. Glad you like the truck.
I am going from a manual VW Jetta to this, so I know what you mean about missing 3 pedals. I have only owned a couple of cars that were NOT manual. Heck, my...
Fingers crossed. Sept order here. They moved me to priority 2 and said it was ready to be scheduled at next available date, but that was right before we have a few weeks of no scheduling. I am hoping to hear something soon, so it comes in slightly less than a year after ordering...
I have an order date that is the same as yours - confirmed 9/21. Hybrid XLT lux, sliding rear window, without CP360.
I still don't have a build date (checked through Ford chat yesterday), but my dealer let me know that my priority code went from 10 to 2 this week. So fingers crossed!
I just asked about the status. The guy said he was checking it and then I got cut off by them (stayed connected but nobody there for 20 minutes - just a deadline). I called back and the next person gave me what info she could and then offered the gift card, maybe because of being cutoff. I...
I called them last week to check in on my order (Sept order date). They could not give me much info, but they did send me a $100 gift card too (ford merch only, not aftermarket accessories unfortunately). Nice that they did that at least!
I saw one in Katy, TX when I was down there visiting my sister, back in the first week of November.
I have seen 5 in the north Dallas/Frisco/McKinney/Farmersville area over the past month or two. All on the roads, all different trucks from what I could tell. I have seen one of them a few times...
The manual transmission in my 2017 Jetta. I have only owned 2 automatics (1983 chevy cavalier and a 2016 F150) as my daily driver since I graduated from high school in the late 1980's.
I get close to the epa # on my '17 Jetta, but it is a manual and I tend to push it harder than I should off the line. I like the car, but with a workshop I really need to get back in a pickup. Having one taht will get similar or better numbers is perfect for me!
That's great news! I love that going from a 2017 VW jetta to the maverick is going to IMPROVE my MPG for my daily drive. It is 20 miles each way, with a mix of highway (60mph tops) and a lot of stop lights. I get 34 in the VW on that drive (~40 on the highway at times) but I should be looking at...
It definitely looks random. The complicating factor in that may be dealer allocations. It is clear that the orders are not simply in a list based on when they were entered. That makes sense to us as the people placing the orders, but it leaves out the complexities of dealer/Ford corporate deals...
Thanks, Tim! I appreciate the update. I completely understand the logistics nightmare going on with chips and shipping at the moment. I am excited to get the truck, and will be thrilled when I finally get the build email even if it takes another 6 months. I think it is worth the wait!
I am waiting for my hybrid xlt lux package. I dropped the mud flaps because I wasn't 100% sure I even wanted them, and if I do I can certainly add them later. Nothing else I am willing to drop!
First, I would echo what others have said about being careful going up. Power = current times voltage. But heat radiated from a wire goes as I^2 R (current squared, times resistance). If you double the current in a wire you will produce ~4x as much heat of the wire. That is why things like...
I ordered from Bob Tomes in McKinney, mostly because I live in McKinney. But I am not in a hurry. I will be happy to get it when I get it. Just placed the order last Saturday. It was confirmed early Tuesday morning from Ford. XLT lux hybrid. Priority 19.
They didn't know anything about their...
When I was in high school I frequently drove my Dad's 1982 Bronco. Started college with a used chevy cavalier (hated that car), and then an old hand-me-down 1983 VW GTI (manual) which I loved and drove until it died.
The first car I bought with my own money was a new 1992 Ford Mustang (2.3L 4...
Owned a 2000 ranger XLT with the 3.0L 6 cylinder and a manual transmission. Great truck.
I currently drive a 2017 VW Jetta with a manual.
I love the idea of one, and will miss not having one. But a hybrid makes more sense. Even if they made one for the Maverick it would doubtlessly be mated to...
Too far for me to get to Denton unfortunately. I work in Farmersville. Hopefully someone else will get one in, maybe in McKinney or Frisco. If they do have one at the State Fair, please post! I may attend if they do!
