Just tried that and no luck.
Ya - that really is unlikely having anything to do with it.

The app merely talks to Ford's servers - if you are reaching any info there - account info, service items, fact you have a Ford, ect - the app is working.

It's the truck communicating to the network that is the issue as the posts have indicated.

And they gave a routine to do.

Have you done that?

And down again as of midday today. I don't understand how this can be so unreliable.

My app started working again. I was able to remote start this morning and all the truck info updated.

Not working again.
It really seems to be random re when it works and when it does not.

Ford says:

Why is my remote start not working in FordPass?
Remote start can fail if there are certain vehicle conditions preventing it (e.g., open doors or the vehicle is already running). If you are unable to start your vehicle remotely, refer to the requirements and troubleshooting steps in this article.
Remote Start Requirements
If your remote start does not work, ensure the following:
  • All vehicle doors, trunk, hood, and tailgate are closed. FordPass®* should alert you if one is ajar.
  • The engine is turned off when a remote start is requested.
  • The alarm horn is not sounding off.
  • Your vehicle is in Park (P) mode.
  • Remote start is enabled on your vehicle's instrument cluster. To check your settings:
    1. Ensure your vehicle is on, running, parked, and in a well-ventilated safe area.
    2. Use the directional arrows on your steering wheel to navigate to Settings and push OK.
    3. Scroll to Vehicle and push OK.
    4. Arrow to Remote Start and push OK.
    5. Scroll to System and push OK.
    6. Set Remote Start to On, which is represented by a check mark.

  • Note: Instrument clusters are unique to the model of the vehicle. For the best results, use the owner's manual to assist. Visit Ford Owner Manuals.
Troubleshooting Remote Start
Once you have confirmed you meet the above requirements:
  1. Restart your device and attempt to remote start again.
  2. Ensure your vehicle is not in Deep Sleep mode.
Note: You may also receive an error if you attempt too many back-to-back remote start requests. Drive your vehicle to reset the remote start settings.
If your remote start commands fail after troubleshooting, contact a Guide for additional assistance.

Yeah, we've all definitely done all that. These random outages are affecting a broad spectrum of vehicle owners.

This is something other than a fluke affecting a single vehicle. There is a problem in the cloud between the app and the modem. A reboot and reauth isn't going to fix things.

And a call back from FordPass engineering. The agent said they changed some settings and it should be working again... and it is! (But for how long?)

Do you know what settings they changed, because mine stopped working again this afternoon?

No clue, unfortunately. But it may be worth the telephone call, if there’s a need to adjust something at their end.

I'm imagining that there's an 1100-page cellphone bill that gets mailed to Ford once a month, all on the same AT&T pay-as-you-go data account. They keep running out of data and some intern has to run out to Seven Eleven to buy top-up cards.

Nah. More like my streaming cell router I use for my Utube TV which after 25 gig can be throttled back if network gets too busy. When it happens usually in the last day or two of my billing cycle I may have to reboot my router 1-3 times per day. Or I can wifi my cell phone to my router and use it's 20 gig before throttle back. The streaming router has better antenna so I normally wifi my phone to my streaming router and use it's data plan so normally I have very low data usage on cell phone plan.

Ugh. My brand new 2025 XL in Canada stopped accessing FordPass 22 hours ago. No location updates, no remote start, and no authorization in the app.
Tried the steps at the top of the thread. It’s completely boned.
My 2025 XL in USA did the same thing twice in first week. The first time it did it I tried all kinds of resets and disconnects and ended up deleting the app then redownloading and reconnecting. The second time I just did that and it worked. Doesn’t fix it, but does get me back connected.

And it's down again...

At the dealer this morning for something else and service guy told me it happened a lot lately.

I guess it's on Ford's end.
