What was your strategy/tools to trim them like that?
I held them by hand tightly in place, and then with a xacto knife I made a tiny score mark on the upper edge and bottom edge of the square side of the trim. The marks were made where the trim met the very edge of the rear door.

I then placed them on my workbench, and using a straightedge I made a score mark from the top to the bottom of the trim piece with the xacto knife (between the 2 small score marks I made earlier). I then took a very tiny fine-tooth saw and slowly and carefully cut it. It actually cut pretty easy. Since you have about a 2" piece to cut off, you can make a practice cut near the edge to make sure you can make an even cut. It's possible that a small hacksaw blade could be used for cutting. You'll want to cut the piece off at a very slight inward angle so that the front of the guard is a hair longer than the opposite side, if that makes sense.

After the pieces were cut off, I used a real fine sandpaper on a sanding block to fine-tune the cut portion of the edge. I then used some car wax to sort of buff the edge. For final installation I lightly applied the pieces and then slowly worked my way from one side to the other. Note that the guards do not 100% perfectly align with the window trim, but when installing you can force the guards to align a little closer.

After looking at everyone’s pics I thought I should see how mine were installed by the dealer. I wasn’t impressed with them the first day and am still not impressed 😕 Where do the instructions say to install them?

I think the dealer did yours by the book, but it seems kinda up to personal preference if someone likes it this way so that is matches the trim around the side mirrors, or if they want to mod it slightly to rest at the tippity top of the window, and then you have a bit of a zig-zag up from the mirror trim.

I’m still trying to get used to them. I have never had window deflectors before and I’m still trying to figure out the pros and cons. I have tried opening the windows a little bit, halfway and all the way and I still haven’t figured out the benefits. Some say they’re great when it rains.

Had they not been on the truck when I bought it I would definitely not have ordered or purchased them. I don’t even like the looks of them so I am considering taking them off.

Not that this probably helps anyone but I did see the other day that WELLvisors has entered the arena. These look to have been intentionally designed to follow the door edges which I personally only think works on a black vehicle, so I'll keep waiting for a sleeker option.

I originally started following them because I thought they did an excellent job in their guards for the Mach-E and several other vehicles. Unfortunately they didn't keep to the same design narrative when working with the Maverick

I'm wondering if they've had issues with their products adhering to vehicles with the rubber window seals. It seems they only offer the flush fitting designs for vehicles with painted or smooth window moldings/trim. In which case they tend to go fully out to the door edges like they've done on the Maverick above.
Here's the direct link if anyone wanted to bookmark it -- they are sold out currently.

Have these in my order but will definitely not be taking them. Waiting for in channel. Not only is the fit horrible but they are so flush to the body that you’re going to get drops of rain in the truck. In the effort to go aerodynamic they reduced effectiveness. Same deal with the hood deflector.

all my in channels sit out further and fit perfectly

I had their visors on my Subaru! Absolutely love them. 1/2 the price of oem and in the case of the Subaru at least, the same look! They tape on but they also have clips that clip onto the door frame so they’re def not going anywhere

Nothing to be a fan of. If you want ventilation on rainy days for whatever reason you need them. Never been without them for dog and waiting out summer rain in the truck.
I had something similar on my '97 F150 for my two labs. We called that truck 'The Labraford'.

They were also handy when I went to work, I could crack the windows open so the interior would not get so hot and if it started raining, it was OK.

I thought they would fall off after time, but nope they were still stuck fast when we traded that truck in with 300,000 miles on it.

My main reason for wanting something like this is so that I can leave my windows partially open on 100+ degree days here in the desert without it looking like the windows are open.

I've had them on my previous vehicles, but I'm going to wait a while on this one to see if some better (or at least different) design show up.

I find them useful to leave my windows cracked when parked on hot days, but not have to run out and close them when an afternoon thunderstorm rolls by. I've been using window vents on all my vehicles ever since my '73 Super Beetle.

Nice trim job. Looks better.

Have you had any issue with water entering in a downpour with window cracked ? I suspect the overhang was necessary to affect a better water seal due to the low profile design.
GLad you installed them correctly on the rubber modling and not the actual paint. Agreen Not Happy with my purchase, not sure if im keeping yet or sending back

What did you trim them with
A small hacksaw, carefully, and then I lightly sanded the cut edge to smooth it out.
