I found out why there's no readily available fog light kit. Because the Hybrid at least was not meant to have fog lamps, or tow hooks. Took me all afternoon to put in one lamp. And I discovered a surprise. The artificial engine sound speaker is behind the driver's side panel that looks like a place for a fog lamp. Those of you looking at grille mounted lamps, I'll tell ya now.... that's probably the better option. I'm half-way in so gotta finish now. Hopefully no surprises on the passenger side.

I got a metal bracket off Etsy.
I cut the plastic out with a Dremel like tool. Started small then enlarged the hole. BEWARE there is a wire bundle running along the TOP edge of the rectangle "cut outs". Then I smoothed the edges using a file.

BEWARE where the tow hook would be, there is the engine sound speaker about an inch or two behind the plastic. More space to the tire side. But then my lamp would not be centered. Alas, I still cannot get it absolutely centered because the sound speaker is in the way.

Lastly I will need to fabricate some kind of bezel to go around the light. While functional as-is I don't like the open look, and the sound speaker should probably have a layer of protection.

The Etsy brackets work, but you'll need to remove the sound speaker, bolt in the bracket, then reinstall the sound speaker.

The Etsy brackets work, but are a tad too long. They sit "proud" beyond the edge of the truck bumper. Not in love with that. MAY shave them down later. First photo shows bracket a little proud.

Never-mind the crookedness. Everything just finger tight for a test fit.

I believe you may have the brackets flipped right and left.

After "sleeping on it"....

The bracket is a little proud because the bracket is square: parallel to the license plate, as any designer would make it. Make sense.

But the bumper is curved.
Maybe instead of shaving the corner I can just put a washer or two under one of the bracket bolts to make the bracket not parallel. 🤔

P.S. they also make wedge shaped washers.

Edit: P.S.
Three flat washers under ONE bolt on the passenger side makes the braket angle flush with the plastic bumper. I will go back and do the same on Driver's side. Slow progress. No time last week. Always dark when not working!
Passenger bracket not visible with "slanted" install.

Good to see you got it sorted with washers, but I still think you might have the brackets flipped right to left, which would relocate the mounting flanges inward. I suppose it isn't a big deal, what are you thinking of for bezels to finish it off? I want to use these brackets with an FX4 lower valance. Thus use these brackets to mount lights in the tow hook "pockets" of the FX4 lower valance, but the price on that valance is too high, was hoping to see a used one come up on eBay by now. I think the tow hook pockets of the FX4 valance would make perfect housings for some lights and give protection to components behind. I'd just cut through the top of the pocket enough to mount the lights to these brackets and leave the rest of the valance tow hook pocket in tact behind the lights.

I don't think so.
They are "square" as in parallel to the radiator, but the bumper is curved.

They are universal and highly customizable.
You can mount two (maybe three) small lights on each, or one large. I'm going with one large. Got sick (common flu) last weekend. Still have not finished. Perhaps this weekend.

On the Etsy listing you can see the flange/return is facing inward, opposite as you have them mounted. The slant looks to be built into the bracket so that the flange mounted inward would give you a slanted/staggered mount such that two lights would be slanted back out the outside. As you have the brackets, two lights per side would be slanted outward, with the outer most being further out than the inner most, which would look a little funky IMO. I think you've got them flipped per what's shown but with only one light per side, I don't think you'll notice though.

I had the instructions at one time but can't find email. I'm positive the brackets were to be mounted with flange facing inward (into the vehicle) so the slant of the bumper aligns with the slots in the brackets. This would give a more recessed light however.

I wish you a speedy recovery from your flu! I hope you come up with some kind of idea to finish off your install so we can get an outside idea at a clean install.

I have them mounted as shown in the sales photos.

I think you don't have a great view without being here in person. There's really only one way to put them in. And they are square and bent at 90 degrees.

There's no slant. There's two slots. Two
Sets of holes though. To stagger you'd put one lamp on the front slot, one on the back slot. They go in the truck as they sit on the table in the shot below.

The reverse orientation is not possible on the hybrid variant but may be doable on EB? Maybe we are both correct because Hybrid is different than EB.

Hybrid has the sound speaker right behind the driver's side bracket. It won't bolt up reversed unless you removed and relocated the sound speaker.

I have another bracket to try on the way: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZDDXQ1B?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details This one will allow me to mount the lights a tiny bit lower & wider - which is obviously better for a fog light application

I may also end up modifying the plastic license plate holder so I can mount the first bracket upside down, which will allow the lights to be mounted at the same height as the intercooler opening. Wasn't going to mess with that tonight as I did this all in the dark and its 25°F

I walked out to the tree line that can be seen in the photos and I was pleasantly surprised that there was not any distracting / blinding glare. Even ducking down so my face was in the beam pattern of the headlights - the glare from headlights was worse than the fogs. I still may end up aiming these down a smidge. As is though, these do a great job of filling in the blank spots to the left & right of the stock headlight beam pattern

Looks great! I’m installing diode dynamics fogs as well, although I got sports instead of the pro’s. Where did you put the switch?

Currently hanging where I can reach it from a trim panel under the steering column. I'm not too happy with the switch as I thought it would be backlit for some reason, and it's not. So I may look for something different before cutting a hole

Gotcha, the little red light on the switch doesn’t light up? I’m assuming you have the dd wiring harness they sell with the lights

Yes I do have the DD harness (the 3 position one since I got the SS3s with a backlight) and the switch isn't backlit

Fogs definitely made a difference! While the LED headlights do a fair job of lighting up the perimeters, these fogs do the job so much better. Great work!

Have you looked into the remote switch for lighting at F150leds.com? While you have already made a hole in the firewall, this might at least save you the trouble of tapping into your dash. This is the method I will use.

It was my understanding that you were trying to mount the fogs where the "bumper guards" are located. From the photo it looks like you decided to put them into the grille. Am I correct?

Yes I have and I don't want a loose fob to control the lights. There is a rubber grommet above the brake pedal on the firewall, so passthrough was easy.

No they are mounted on a bracket attached to the licence plate frame, see my original comment with amazon links.

Thank you for the response. Apologies for missing your earlier comments.
While I like the idea of using the license plate frame as a bracket base, I'm wondering if that might interfere with the ACC sensor. Now that I've looked at the front end of my own truck, it looks like one could flip the bracket upside down to clear the ACC.
