I find it interesting that the base $30K truck will be RWD. FWD seems less expensive to make?
RWD is cheaper to make on an EV.

My biggest peeve with todays small truck design is the uselessly small back seat. Trucks this small would be better off as 2dr with a longer bed.
Glenn do you think if any manufacturer had a few hundred thousand potential customers asking for a 2 door small truck they wouldn't build one? Tacoma and Frontier offer extended cabs. Closest I can find. I had a 1992 extended cab Ranger for 13 years. The rear jump seats worked for my kids until they were about 12 then it was strictly a 3 person in the front seat squeezed in tight truck.

Would it be cheaper to place a dc motor on the front versus the rear? Less wire to run from the battery in the rear?

That makes perfect sense, thanks. I was thinking in terms of Hybrids or ICE duh.
RWD with 0-60 in the high 4 to mid 5 secs!

maybe the battery module is in the frunk. Not an ideal place, but probably weighs about the same as a 2-3l engine.

The battery is under the floor like most EVs.

That's an interesting front for an EV. Is that a bug deflector under the camo?

It's also interesting that the bed is elevated above the fenders. It's for aero reasons, but it kind of gives off a step side style bed shape.

The rear roofline is also an odd place for such heavy camo. Oh, it extends all the way to the bed. Huh.

With all that emphasis on aero, why are the door handles not in line with the mirrors? that would decrease the frontal area a bit. the Continental had them there.

It's going to be mid to upper 40s to get a vehicle with any kind of capability, range, features, etc. And I'm confident in that because otherwise it kills the Maverick market, and maybe that is the plan because they claim their new manufacturing is so much leaner and cost effective.

I don't hate it it at all though. Definitely sleeker and more car like, but if offering AWD capabilities the same as my 2025 Maverick I don't care as much about ground clearance.

Given's Ford track record, I may be interested in one in 2030 or later after all you early adopters are the beta testers Ford uses to iron out all the kinks on an entirely new platform.
They might also raise the price 30% by then though...

They absolutely will. This will not be available for $30k and if it is it will be a bare bones terrible range vehicle that has no payload and can’t tow a thing.

You don't know what's behind the camouflage. Funny how that works.

Uh huh. I can take some educated guesses. I think Ford had a prototype tour feedback groups. That photo from the ring finger looks exactly like one of those. That would be the supposed source of some rumors about this truck.

Such as the front end going all in on an EV look which accidentally had it kind of looking like minivan. Looking at how high the hood is at the dash; I can see that. It would make spotting the front end a bit tricky in parking situations. You either end up leaving a lot of space in front, or you take a guess and pray you don't hit something with the nose. A bug deflector type thing that deploys at parking lot speed only (which this mule was doing) would go a long way to solve that problem. The parking one at least. It won't do anything for that minivan look, but that's aerodynamics unfortunately.

The rear of the cab camo is probably hiding some kind of passthrough. That is something that a lot of Maverick buyers reported that they wished they had. It would be a great way to transport longer boards without having to leave the tailgate open. Is it Avalanche sized or typical sedan pulldown armrest sized? That remains to be seen.

Enjoy your obsessive speculation. I'll wait until they take off the camouflage to judge its looks and capabilities.
